Wow he responds very quickly....he just wrote me back and confirmed my dinner reservation...for Dec. 2nd! Sounds so far away....sounds silly I made it so far in advance but I'm just glad to know we got a reservation...I requested the best table on the top floor and he said it's ours!!!

hey girls!I must say that i have avoided this thread like the plague!
In the very beginning ( way b4 i was a liw girl) i had my heart set on tahiti and then, the realization sank in that we would not have the finances to do it and i didnt want to tease myself by lurking in the fp boards...
and just recently, as we've been toying around with hm ideas we said F-it!
So now, i would say there is a great chance that we too will be hanging out in OWB in Bora Bora
this is a once in a lifetime trip and what better time to see this magical place then on your honeymoon - a time when there are no kids and no morgages to worry about ..
So girls, please welcome and guide me!
I am so excited to be here!

haha - I already bought mine!!! Dumb question though but are those things easy to blow up? My friend was making fun of me when I told her I bought one to bring - she told me she's sure the resort would have them but I said I didn't think so b/c everyone writes in their reviews to bring one and she was laughing b/c she thought it would take a while to blow up...how bad can it be???

YAY and congrats...did you officially book it yet? Ask us any questions - between all of us someone should be able to help you!
And there are def. ways to cut back and not spend $10k. If you stay in Moorea longer that is a way to save a little $ b/c hotels and food are less expensive there. While in Bora Bora you could do your first few nights in a garden or beach bungalow to save $ and then just do your last few nights in an OWB. The Pearl on Bora Bora is also a good way to save $ - it's a really nice hotel but just not as expensive as some of the others (like Nui, BB Lagoon, Thalasso or St. Regis).

HI Hunnybunny! Welcome! There are definitely cheaper ways to do Tahiti. Try looking at the Tahiti travel guide by Jan Prince
and look at the Tahitiexplorer.com message board. It has a lot of useful info. Cruises also make Tahiti more affordable. Good luck!

moorea-4 days ( garden bung. is fine)
Bora bora -3 days (owb all the way!!)
I am hoping to get this package for about $8000 including a few meals at the very least..) is this do-able?
I am nervous about the expensive food!
any idea of when i should be booking this trip?
my wedding is 7/1/07

I think booking your HM in Oct is fine for a July wedding of next year. I can FM you my Travel Agent's info b/c I got quotes from so many TA's and the one I used came in with the lowest prices for every different itinerary I priced. You should definitely shop around and check with several TA's to make sure you are getting the lowest price. I think your plan is very doable for the price you want to spend.

just popping in....we'll be booking our tahiti honeymoon in july once air fare is available.....we are doing a week in australia and a week in tahitit i cannot wait!!! if anyone has any ideas or recommendations of where to stay please let me know!....i believe we will be booking through dream destinations (an LIW vendor)

Girls.....I just got a FM from pigs222seal...she is on her HM in FP right now as we speak....just wanted to share. She looked into my question about Bloody Marys closing down for all of Dec...it is! Bummer...now I just have to find out if I can go there on my first night in Bora Bora which is Nov. 30th!!! So cute - her and CaMacho are going to dinner at Bloody Marys together tonight....I am so jealous...I wish I were there right now too!!!HI Keri,
Hope all is well. We're here on our beautiful HM and enjoying every minute. Just got back from a quick stop at Bloody Mary's and I am sorry to say, they close the whole month of December. We are going there tonight with Camacho so I will give a review when I get home. Just a quick tip....bring lots of bug spray because it is very hot and humid during our winter months. this is great info!I am worried now b/c it said that there will be gray skies around the time i will be there ( early july)
Is there any brides that have been there in July?
I dont mind a little spurt of rain here and there, but gray skies will def. put a damper
