Hey girls!! Did anyone pay anything more than their initial deposit? My TA is stressing that I purchase my airline tix now so I lock in the rate. My concern is what if the times change or the rates go down...anyone?

For Moorea, we are doing the Garden Bungalow with pvt. pool (3 nts).

And I only put down my deposit.. I didnt have to lock in my air fare..

Yes, we paid our deposit, trip insurance and airfare to lock in the rate! The times/dates did change on us last week and we didn't have to pay any extra!! If the rates go down... oh well, but if they go up then you don't have to pay the higher fare.

As for Moorea we're doing a beach bungalow there for 4 nights at the pearl, but most do a garden bungalow or garden pool bungalow.

Hi girls....first post here on the Tahiti thread.

We originally had our hearts set on Hawaii...but now are looking into Tahiti instead. It looks so amazing!

So for those of you who have been - did you absolutely love it? Best trip ever? Would you recommend it? I have FM'd some of you so I thank you for the info.

I'm torn b/c in Hawaii i feel like there is a lot to do so we won't get bored just lounging around on the beach every day. However my FH is now telling me all he wants to do is relax....he doesn't want to be bothered with so many activities on our honeymoon and feel like he has to do and see everything....so he thinks Tahiti is a perfect place to do nothing and not feel guilty about it.

So - just starting to looking the different islands. My friend just sent me her pics...she did 1st night Intercontinental Tahiti, then 3 nights Intercontinental Moorea in OWB, 5 nights Bora Bora Lagoon Resort in OWB, and 3 nights Le Tah'a Private Island & Spa - (Beachvilla, which is on the water with your own private plunge pool)...anyway - these pics were amazing - so we are pretty sold on a Tahiti honeymoon now!

Just looking for some feedback from you girls!

Slight change to our itinerary again. Changed it on page 1... we decided to stay in Bora Bora in an OWB an extra night instead of tahiti!!! I'm so excited!!!

This is a great link! It's a map of Bora Bora and the motu's around it showing where all the resorts are.

ETA: You can also see where restaurants are, tours, stores to get pearls, etc...

Hi...I saw that update as well. Luckily I will be there early Dec so hopefully all the kinks will be ironed out by then.

I am so close to booking...thanks CaMacho for all the help : ) I'll post my exact itinerary once we book....we got a ton of quotes from different TA's and luckily the one I wanted to use who all my friends have used has so far come in with the lowest quotes. I'm glad b/c I really wanted to use her.

Quick question about the weather though....I know it is warm there all year but should I be really concerned about too much rain when I'll be there? I was just looking at the link you posted on weather CaMacho and it says Dec. is the wettest month. My dates I'll be there are Nov. 27 - Dec. 7th. I've heard if it rains it's usually just a little shower here and there and then the sun pops out. Would any of you not go here during this time for fear of too much rain???

I am staying there and I spoke to my travel agent and the construction should be minimal(like not visible), but just in case - the TA is going there the first week in march... so when he reports to me whats going on , I will let you gals know.
