I am so excited also... Me and my FH talk about the trip all the time. are any of you guys scheduling anything beforehand thru your travel agent.? I was thinking about it but I dont want to get there and be restricted & have my whole trip planned out.

When is Aug. Going to get here...

I agree with you. I don't think I'll plan much if anything thru the travel agent before we go. I think we'll just take it day by day. I can't stop talking about this trip either - I definitely talk about it more than I do my wedding.

Yeah I ignore the wedding sometimes and just think about the HM.. I used to go on the Tahiti website all the time at work to remind of how beautiful it is. I am just so excited.

HI.....

Yes - let's get talking more about FP!!!

I can't even wait for May to come so people can start posting reviews on trip advisor about the Bora Bora Thalasso!

I can't wait either! I go in July, I'll give you plenty of info when i get back!!!

I can't wait for you to go in July either

You'll have to take a lot of pictures for me!
What category OWB are you in? We are in an Emerald...would have loved to go for the Saphire or Diamond but it was just too much more $ for us. You'll have to scope out the best Emerald bungalow for me...right now from the map it looks like #206 is the best one - it's right next to a diamond level bungalow. I'm secretly hoping if anything is available while we are there they will upgrade us to a higher level...I won't get my hopes up though.

I am also in emerald and praying for an upgrade!!

FH is like we are going to end up all the way in the front that when we go into the lagoon the water will be up to our ankles. But I just couldnt afford no more HM upgrades, Tahiti was enough.

Yes, we are in Emerald also. I'm going to cry until i get an upgrade. Afterall, how many other people do you think will be there? Do you really think the place will be packed? I doubt it.. Not all the brides are as brave as us to book a resort that isn't even finished being built yet!! HAAH.. I'll let you know which OWB is the best... we also got breakfast and dinner included in the package, did you also?

Yeah, breakfast and Dinner are included, that’s why we decided to switch when we had to add an extra day. We are daring to book a new resort, I also am going on the assumption it might be empty.

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

I also think being alone at the resort might be nice. We'll probably get extra special treatment right?
And, i'm also going to bank on the upgrade and lots of freebies- afterall, they are going to want us honeymooners to go home and recommend the place, right?

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

I'm praying for those upgrades too!

I also am thinking a resort not fully booked might be really nice. They can pamper us even more! I have good feelings about the Thalasso...I think it's going to be amazing! Those OWBs are huge! They look so amazing - no matter what our view is!

Repost from '06 Board --

I am so excited!!! I just finalized all the honeymoon details.

1 night in Tahiti at the Radisson
5 nights in Bora Bora at Le Meridien
6 nights in Hawaii at the Four Seasons Maui

This trip took so much out of me to book and I am so happy that it's finally over!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

I was so happy, and now I just want to cry. I should have gotten quotes from different travel agents. Instead, I just compared the price to what it would be if I booked it myself cause I just wanted to book the honeymoon already. I was saving tons of money by booking through a TA rather than doing it myself. I didn't think about the price differences between different TAs. I was so stupid for not doing this!

But, now I went into Liberty Travel the other day just out of curiousity. I priced out the same exact vacation (except that they offered me a better room in Maui), and it came to about $1200 less. Plus, the Liberty Travel lady thought that she could save me an additional $300 pp on the air. She even said that she would play around with the numbers to give me an extra discount. So, the price difference is at least $1800!

I contacted the TA that I booked with to see if she would match the Liberty Travel prices. Otherwise, I told her I would have to cancel the trip with her. I only gave a deposit on the airfare of $150 pp, so the most I would lose is $300, which is nothing compared to what I'd be saving if I went with Liberty Travel. Now, I am just waiting for the original TA to get back to me.

Sorry ladies, I just had to share my frustration!!! This has been bothering me so much since I went to Liberty Travel on Saturday.

Thanks for listening to my rant!!!

I'm sure your original TA will match liberty's quote b/c they won't want to lose such a huge booking! But if they don't then Liberty is great, we booked with them and they price matched our lowest quote from another online TA. You should try www.pacific-for-less.com and get a quote from them... they gave us our lowest quote (by far)! Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that

I am sure your TA won't want to lose your business so I am sure they will match the better quote you found. If not like you said - you're still saving if you cancel with them and book with Liberty...so go for it.

I hate to throw another option at you - but I got a ton of quotes too and my TA's price was the lowest by far...which I was glad with b/c I wanted to book with her. She came in a good $1k at least under Liberty Travel. It's a Virtuoso company so you get certain amenities thru them...like free breakfast at Le Taha'a I got...didn't have to pay for it...it's just an amenity thru the Travel Agency. Virtuoso companies are also more highly respected by the hotels/resorts so they give them room upgrades before other tour companies/travel agents. If you want my TA's info FM me!

Good Luck!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

we are leaving june 5th, 2006 (wedding is june 4)

we had originally booked with liberty about 2 months ago, but we had booked 3 nights tahiti and 9nights intercontinental thalasso bora bora. when we found out the construction was not going to be completed yet at thalasso, we got a little worried so we rethought our itinerary, and ended up booking with in and out travel because they had better price.

I guess i will be one of the first to be able to review thalasso for everyone
