I don't think 'catholic guilt' applies only to things that wold be considered agsint the religion of catholicism, but ANYTHING. You've never heard 'atholic guilt' used that way before? ]Honestly, no I haven't

I don't know. if eel like you did jump all over her. We ALL have contradicting of 'hypocritical' religious beliefs.

well that's your opinion, and you're entitle to that, just like i'm entitled to mine!! as far as my RELIGIOUS beliefs are, i can honestly say i'm not a hypocrite about anything I believe in!

You're a trip.

if you put all of your beliefs out there, I'm sure someone could pick you apart too. Same is true of anyone. No one thinks of themselves as a hypocrite.

first of all mary...who is trying to pick who apart here/??? it was JANICE that I was questioning and discussing, what she'd posted. did SHE once say i was trying to pick her apart!?? I was trying to UNDERSTAND something SHE said, and what SHE believes in!! TO ME, it was conflicting beliefs!! and IF YOU READ my original post, you would see that I was unclear about it!!!!!!
YES, noone thinks of themselves as hypocrites, but we were referrring to catholic beliefs, vs personal beliefs.

If you want to look at it another way..being a hypocrite is having premarital sex and then telling your kids they can't....and making them sneak around the same way you did!

I'm just saying that I think 'catholic guilt' IS personal guilt. And that if you put all of anyone's beliefs out there, someone can come along and say this is hypocritical, that's hypocritical. To me, I'd just never call anyone's religious beliefs hypocritical. I didn't take it as you were unclear about it, I took it as pointing out an inconsistency for the sake of pointing out an inconsistency. I'm not trying to argue...from this angle, it looked like you were picking on her.

ETA: If you say you weren't, I believe you. You're not a mean person. I'm misinterpreting EVERYONE this week. I think I'm just in a bad mood

Marymoon, you made some great points, and you posted my thoughts..if I ever need security or a lawyer I will keep you in mind!!

I believe it was a discussion, but it was nice to be 2 on 2 then 1 on 2, a lot more typing gets done

Honestly, I should go to law school. Since I was a kid everyone told I should be a lawyer because I have an answer for EVERYTHING. I got away with murder when i was a kid because I always ahd an answer for anything my parents said and eventually they'd get tired of trying. It was a losing battle My mom deserves some kind of award

Re: Friend with Benefits

I did, right before I met FH, and it turned into a HUGE mess. We are, of course, not friends anymore.

I thought I could keep the emotions seperate, but I really, honestly couldn't - and it drove me bezerk. It didn't help that he was unbelievably hot.

I have read those articles that say women have some sort of chemical release that happens in the brain when they have intercourse which causes them to be 'attached' to the sexual partner. I don't know the specifics of it, but I really think it exists!
