Thank you. There should be a sensor for people who can't hack adult questions!
Okay, i'm sorry but this response is not helping to relieve any drama you did not mean to start. Just because I saw how people, who do not live with their FH or have not before they are married, can take offense to it, does not mean I cannot 'hack' adult questions, thank you,
I agree...with that comment everyone is going to thing your looking for drama now

Whom you have never lived with??????????
The question was slightly offensive.. However me and FH do not live together, but we have been together for 7 years. We chose this since both of our parents are traditional and there would have been major drama on both sides if we didnt live apart until the wedding. I know that 'these days' it is not the norm for people not to live together, however this is a modern day thing. In the past couples rarely lived together before marriage and back then the divorce rate was alot lower... I doubt the two have anything to do with each other, however i dont see why its a problem.
Very well said. Don't get me wrong. FH and I were seriously thinking about moving in together at one point, but my mom would've raised all He ll!!

Very easy. You show up on the day of the wedding and exchange vows.

Tell me about it, she even threatened to not give $$ towards the wedding cause she would have been too 'hurt'.. Ahh well.. its fine, and we got to save up a bit of money.. I think we are more excited about living together than the actual wedding. For us were glad it doesnt end with the wedding day, our lives change from here on out. Its all very exciting, and im sure itll be hard at times too but what in life doesnt have its little hick-ups.

Same here. I cannot wait until our wedding day and hope its perfect. But the reason I am having a wedding is to be joined with FH for the rest of my life. I cannot wait to LIVE together for the rest of my life. And thats what I am looking foward to most, and am happy that we didnt actually move in together when we wanted to

Re: How can you marry someone...
LIGHTEN UP!!!!!!!!!! I have seen many things on this site....that I may agree with, and I may not agree with...sometimes, I just don't respond if I am in disagreement.
My MOH has been engaged longer that we have. Their wedding was set to be 2 months after ours.. they decided to move-in together after dating for 3 yrs and it just didn't work.......that is the reason for my post....why I have to be attacked for posting on a PUBLIC FORUM is beyond me.....it probably just wasn't meant to be....may have had nothing to do with living together, but she said that she just could NOT live with him!
Even after 3 YEARS of dating she (and he ) just hating living together! That's all....end of story...I apologize to those of you I may have offended....AGAIN, IT WAS NOT MY INTENTION!!!! I was just posting a topic on a website......no need to be so sensitive...

Re: How can you marry someone...
Im not living with FH before the wedding and I don't see anything wrong with it. We bought a home together and he is currently living there, but I am not. I can't wait to actually live there, but I think me officially moving in will work out just fine...
Everyone works out their arrangements differently. Some choose to live before and I guess adjust before hand, while others do the opposite. To each his own...

Never was judging anyone...just posting a question...
i think that its smarter to live with someone first - but i dont think that its wrong not too - if that makes any sense - i think that living together first is a good experience and it gets a lot of the kinks out that there may be when you first move in together - with that said, my FH and i moved into together a few years ago and there werent really any 'kinks' for us to work out, we adjusted fine and it wasnt really a big deal for us since we were both very responsible and independent before moving in together (as far as work, money, chores etc.) so i think even if we waited we would have been fine but i wouldnt have been comfortable enough to marry him without living with him first - but ive heard stories of other people moving in together and having a lot of problems in the beginning and for me, i wouldnt feel comfortable marrying someone unless i knew beforehand what it was like to live with them....they say that the first year of marriage can be stressful but i dont see how if you already live together, however i can see being a little stressed out if its the first year of marriage AND living together just because its something new to get used too....but again, not everyone has a bad experience but i have heard of people having a hard time being together all the time and adjusting to the responsibilty of being on their own especially when they come from living at home with their parents - but i have heard of people we know moving in after the wedding and things were fine....

Re: How can you marry someone...
i see drama coming!!
DH and I lived together a little over a year before we got married, but I think we knew eachother well enough before then to get married without a problem. It probably helped that we went to college together, saw the way eachother lived, spent nights together and knew eachother's flaws but we didnt really have issues when we moved in because we knew what to expect
DH is louuuuuuuuud and loves music (i prefer quiet) and I'm super messy.
My parents got married without living together first and they have been married 25+ years

Re: How can you marry someone...
I also wasn't sure if there was judgement behind this question but...I deliberately did not want to live with my FH before we married. I am old-fashioned, yes, but I also didn't want to give up what I had worked so hard to get (my co-op and my sense of self as a single person who can make it on her own) just to live with someone and possibly not have it work out. Learning to live together whether married or not is a tough adjustment...JMHO, but it's a lot easier to walk away when you are just living together or even engaged than when you are married. For me that meant marriage before I was able to fully commit to our relationship.

Re: How can you marry someone...
Okay, I am not apologizing anymore :) I agree with the previous post. My Fh and i lived together before marriage. We went and bought a house together before marriage....before engagement!
I just think it's crazy that some people didn't because fo the $$$ they would receive...our parents grew up in a way different generation........things were much cheaper...to say you couldn't have lived together first due to the $$$ for the wedding is unreal to me!
