I have a female question-Update--

I've been on the pill for a couple of years now. FH and I had sex last weekend and I started spotting and its been getting heavier. I've spotted once before after sex but never this much. I have an appt with my gyno on the 28th, but I'm a little worried as to why. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know why?

Update - 2/29

So I finally went to the Gyno yesterday and initially everything looked fine. She said I dont look pregnant but took my urine to put my mind at ease. I told her that I have been bleeding after sex for a while and that the last time it continued for a while. She said that it may be the pill since I've been on it for a while and she may need to change my medication.

But then she did the exam. She touched the cervix, and I bled. So now I have to go for a pelvic sonogram. I'm a little worried. Stupid me starts researching last night and one of the first things i see is cancer. I have to call today to schedule the sonogram.

Fh tried to make light of it saying I'm broken First my heart problems back in November, than I had surgery in December for another problem, and now this. Go figure that the dr would be concerned about something yesterday.

Which pill are you on? I had random problems with spotting when I was on my last pill. Did you forget to take a pill at the normal scheduled time? That can cause some spottage.

Im on orhotryclen lo (sp) and thats the one Ive always been on. I always take the pill around the same time at night.

hm... that's never happened to me but can you call your gyno and just ask if it's normal? i think it's relatively normal to spot sometimes.

But after I had my daughter whenever we have sex.. I bleed afterwards.. Mostly the day after.... But not too heavy...
Its so weird... And I get horrible sharp pains to the point I hunch over.....
I went to the doctor and the Dr. told me he is hitting my cervix.... That I have to take control of the thrusting
We joke about it now, although it does hurt bad!!!
But I tell him, shutup bitchh Im in control!

I dont know why its happening to you...
But I guess it happens to me because of childbirth or something.... never had this problem until I had my daughter

This has totally happened to me and I thought something was majorly wrong....I was freaking out but I went to the gyno the next day and it was nothing. He said sometimes this happens and your cycle changes, I wasn't due for my period at all at that time but he said it could happen and be brought on from sex. I am also on the pill (ortho lo) and have been for years.

Thanks. That makes me feel a lil better. I was starting to freak out because I heard of bleeding afterwards can be because of cysts or spotting can be because of pregnancy. Prior to the last two times in last week, we hadn't done it for almost 2 months because I was sick and I had surgery, so I'm like I cant be pregnant bc of that and I'm on the pill

Yeah just call your doctor and explain what happened I am sure he/she will want to see you just to make sure but it is probably nothing. I hate being on the pill I can't wait to get off of it!

did you skip any pills? if you skip even one pill that can make it come early....or make you have spotting. i was sick at the beginning of January and missed one pill and spotted for 2 weeks after becuase i missed 1.....you can try calling your gyn and asking them.

No. I've missed a pill in the past and took it the next morning or doubled up when i realized. But i've been good about remembering it lately and that has happened before just lil spotting. But its like now I have my period now (the light days though)

I was on one pill for years and got break through bleeding so my doc switched me to something else. You may just need to switch brands.

Im on the patch. I experienced it too...called GYNO and there was an option to spw a nurse. I called and it turned out to be nothing...

Are you STRESSIN? I kno that can be a factor?

I spotted alot on Ortho or I wouldn't even get my period. I was also on Ortho for a couple years and had no problems in the beginning.I told the gyno and they just switched my pill. They told me hormones change in everybody every few years so it was just time to switch my pill. HTH!!
