MTV Confirms Birth Of Second Child But Not The Sex

MTV News reported that Britney Spears gave birth to her second child late on Monday night, a source close to the family confirmed to MTV News, but whether it is a boy or a girl has yet to be officially revealed. Both Us Weekly and The National Enquirer have reported the baby to be a boy; Spears’ rep, however, dismissed the reports as “speculation.”

Although it was never officially confirmed, Spears was expected to give birth later this week; reports circulated that she would have labor induced on Thursday in order to prepare for a cesarean birth. The birth of Spears’ first son last year was also a cesarean.

Rumors that Spears went into labor last week were promptly debunked after photographs of the singer driving to Taco Bell on Thursday surfaced. The singer was also photographed taking her son Sean Preston for a drive with her around Malibu, California, in her white Mercedes on Monday.

The birth marks Spears’ second and her husband Kevin Federline’s fourth child; Federline already has two children with former girlfriend Shar Jackson: 4-year-old Kori and 2-year-old Kaleb.

SYDNEY, Australia — Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin will be celebrated at a public memorial service at his family's wildlife park next week, his wife announced Wednesday.
Negotiations were underway for a live television broadcast from the Australia Zoo's 5,500-seat auditorium, known as the Crocoseum.

Free tickets will be distributed for the public service, said Peter Lang, a spokesman for the zoo, and there are plans to set up screens for broadcasts to venues in the Queensland state capital, Brisbane, and the nearby Sunshine Coast.

Irwin was fatally wounded by a stingray last week as he recorded a television show on the Great Barrier Reef.

His wife Terri and 8-year-old daughter Bindi are to speak at the memorial service, along with Irwin's father, Bob, and his close friend and manager John Stainton, the family said in a statement.

Stainton said last week that the service would be a 'celebration of his life, not a sad funeral — Steve would not have wanted us to have everyone around crying.'

Irwin's family and closest friends held a private funeral on Saturday, telling stories around a campfire on the grounds of the zoo, the entertainer's base in eastern Queensland.

Bob Irwin has said the family turned down an offer of a state funeral because his son would not have wanted it. The father said Irwin would, however, have liked a public service for his fans to celebrate his life.

Although larger venues for the public event had been suggested, Terri Irwin said her husband would have wanted the service held at the Crocoseum.

'I cannot see how a memorial service would work in any other place other than the Crocoseum, which he built here at the zoo and of which he was so proud,' she said in a statement. 'I would therefore ask that everyone please bear with me in this wish and help me to make this happen.'

Terri Irwin, originally of Eugene, Ore., thanked her husband's fans for their kindness and support following the death of her 'soul mate.'

'I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support and prayers for my family,' she said in her first public comments since Irwin's death.

Thousands of fans have flocked to the 60-acre zoo to lay flowers, candles, cards, stuffed animals and messages of support scrawled on Irwin's trademark khaki shirts.

Singer Aaron Carter is engaged to Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche, the bride-to-be confirms to PEOPLE.

'I'm very excited about it,' Peniche tells PEOPLE. 'Aaron is the most genuine person I know. He's kind, loving, and I love him so much.'

Carter, 18, popped the question to Peniche (who previously dated Aaron's brother Nick) on Saturday in Las Vegas while they were onstage in front of 200 people during the Playboy Comedy Tour at the Palms Casino Resort.

'I don't remember it happening. It was such a blur,' says Peniche about the surprise proposal. 'I had no idea he was going to do this, but I'm glad he did.'

The couple, who plan to wed in the next six months, hugged and kissed after Peniche accepted the proposal, Playboy tour producer and comedian Cort McCown tells PEOPLE.

'He said he was going to do it, but we thought he was kidding,' said McCown. 'He was really nervous.'

Peniche, 22, was named Miss Teen USA in 2003, but was stripped of her title after posing for Playboy. Carter is set to appear on an E! reality show about his family, House of Carters, premiering next month.

Reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith exchanged vows with boyfriend Howard K. Stern on a boat near Nassau, but there was no formal marriage and the ceremony is 'not legally binding,' her attorney Michael Scott said Friday.

Scott said the exchange of vows happened aboard a catamaran Thursday — 18 days after Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel, died as he was visiting her in a Nassau hospital, where she had given birth to a baby girl.

Stern says he is the father of the baby. The couple 'exchanged vows before God' but did not obtain a marriage license, Scott told The Associated Press.

'It was not a formal, legal arrangement,' Scott said.

The 38-year-old former Playboy playmate has been mourning the death of her son. Three days earlier, her daughter was born at the same hospital where he died.

Cyril Wecht, a forensic pathologist hired by Smith, said her son died from a combination of two antidepressants and methadone. A Nassau funeral home has been holding the remains while awaiting instructions on burial arrangements.

Anna Nicole Smith has been married twice.

She married Bill Smith in 1985, giving birth to Daniel Smith before divorcing two years later.

She wed Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died the following year. She has since been involved in legal disputes over the estate.

Authorities in the Bahamas were awaiting their own toxicology results and a police report on Daniel Smith's death to determine whether a jury inquest is necessary.

September 30, 2006 -- NICK Carter says he decided to fight fire with fire when he learned that Paris Hilton was rampantly cheating on him with Sophia Bush's fiancé, Chad Michael Murray - so he waited until she jetted off to Australia and then jumped into bed with Ashlee Simpson.

The former Backstreet Boy revealed his revenge tactic when he and his kid brother Aaron visited Page Six yesterday to promote their E! show, 'House of Carters,' on their way to an Us Weekly luncheon

'I'd fallen head over heels with this chick. Then, all of a sudden, three months go by and I got people telling me, 'Nick, you know what Paris is doing to you,' and I got a little upset,' Carter related. Tori Spelling is expecting her first child with actor husband Dean McDermott, sources close to the couple tell PEOPLE.

'They're so excited,' a friend of the couple says. 'They're so happy.'

This will be the Beverly Hills 90210 star's first child, though the 14-week-pregnant Spelling already is stepmom to McDermott’s son, Jack, 8, by ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.

Spelling, 33, and McDermott, 39, wed in Fiji in May. 'The feeling is overwhelming,' McDermott told PEOPLE at the time. 'We're soul mates.'

On their nine-day honeymoon in Fiji, 'we're going to make a baby,' McDermott said. 'We want to have nine kids!' Added Spelling, 'He likes to play hockey, so we're going to make a hockey team.'

The couple met in the summer of 2005 while in Canada filming the TV movie Mind Over Murder. They were both married at the time – she to actor-writer Charlie Shanian, he to Toronto TV personality Mary Jo Eustace.

This will be Spelling's first child; McDermott has a son, Jack, who turns 8 on Oct. 6, and a 1-year-old adopted daughter with Eustace.

A source close to Vaughn tells Us that the split happened just before the actor left for London to begin work on his holiday comedy, Joe Claus. 'It's not common knowledge, but we're not together anymore,' Vaughn told the insider September 13, adding that they solidified the breakup in a long phone conversation. 'We've split up.' Confirms an Aniston pal: 'They're 100 percent done.'
In addition, Life & Style magazine speculates that Jennifer even has her sights set on a new man, Matthew McConaughey. A friend dished to the mag, declaring, 'Jen has a mad crush on Matthew.' My advice to Jen: dress up like Jake Gyllenhaal with lots and lots of spandex if you want to want to catch Matt's eye.
