Brooke Shields Accepts Tom Cruise's Apology
BURBANK (September 1, 2006) – Brooke Shields says Tom Cruise has apologized for publicly criticizing her use of antidepressants after the birth of her first daughter.

The two had a public beef last year after the 'Mission: Impossible III' star, echoing the position of Scientology, said in an appearance on NBC's 'Today' show that depression can be treated with exercise and vitamins rather than drugs.

The 41-year-old actress says Cruise apologized in person Thursday.

'He came over to my house, and he gave me a heartfelt apology,' Shields said Friday during an appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.' 'And he apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened.

'And through it all, I was so impressed with how heartfelt it was. And I didn't feel at any time that I had to defend myself, nor did I feel that he was trying to convince me of anything other than the fact that he was deeply sorry. And I accepted it.'

Cruise's spokesman confirmed the celebrities made up.

'It is true that his friendship with Ms. Shields has been mended,' spokesman Arnold Robinson said in a statement. 'He has not changed his position about antidepressants, which as evidenced by the black label warnings issued by the FDA on these types of drugs, are unhealthy.'

Shields, who wrote 'Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression,' has dismissed the actor's remarks as a 'ridiculous rant' and 'a disservice to mothers everywhere.'

I know, radio commentators wer ejoking if the baby was really Tom's for being so good looking, and even Katie is glowing in that photo!

i thought she looked kind of asian, too..i just didnt' want to say it and people be like--> what's with CLM??? Why is she mean? But I thought the same thing.

[that doesn't make her ugly...but with all that hair and the super dark eyes, she has this look to her...]

Paris Hilton Arrested for Alleged DUI
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 07, 2006 08:05AM EST

Paris Hilton was arrested in Hollywood Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence, Los Angeles police said.

Officer I. Isabella tells the Associated Press Hilton, 25, was pulled over just before 12:30 a.m. because she was 'driving erratically.'

'The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication,' Isabella said, reading a police statement. 'A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene and the officers determined she was driving under the influence.'

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and then released, he said. According to Hilton's rep, Elliot Mintz, she was picked up from the police station by sister Nicky and Nicky's boyfriend, Entourage star Kevin Connolly.

Mintz told the AP Hilton had spent the day shooting a music video and had been on her way home from a charity event when she was pulled over in her Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

He said she'd had one margarita at the event and that her symptoms were 'probably the result of an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued.'

Mintz also said police had detected only the minimum level of blood alcohol that could be cause for an arrest (California's legal limit is 0.08 percent).

'She's absolutely fine,' Mintz said. 'She didn't appear in the least bit to be intoxicated.'
