Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

yeah! I'm so excited we have our own thread like the May girls!

Amy - your dress is beautiful.

We're using Photography by Verdi and Flower Michele. We absolutely love them both. We looked at a lot of florists before meeting with John at Flower Michele and felt he understood us most and gave us the best price. Verdi was one of three photographers we saw. But we fell in love with their stuff at a vendor showcase at Lands End.

We are working on invitations now. We are sending them out the last week in Jan with a March 1 RSVP date. Can you believe its only 4 months away?

Good luck with planning everyone!

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

All the dresses are beautiful, thanks for sharing.

Amy - I am praying for you but I dont think you will have a problem, they want to make the money, they will get you your dress in time. Good Luck

everyone seems to have everything together.
I am starting to get alittle nervous, I can believe it is almost Thanksgiving.

Time is surely flying by.

When did everyone get engaged?
We got engaged last Christmas 2001, I can believe it is going to be a year soon.

Why did you pick March as your wedding date?
Well our main reason was it was still at the Value (cheaper price) and then we decided right after St Patricks day would be nice, we are hoping some family from Ireland come down and go to parade and stuff. And the 22 is my favorite number so the date seemed perfect, I didnt have the date in my head the reception site was giving out prices and told us up until March was still Value, and they said how about 22nd and then I thought about it and It seemed to be perfect.

The only problems we came across was booking a Irish band right around St Paddy Day, VERY HARD. But we found a great band for a great price. ANd then honeymoon with the whole spring break thingy. But all will be fine.

please share.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

Princess99 - I am wearing a Mon Cheri gown as well - style B208.

To answer Kimberly's questions:

When did everyone get engaged?
We got engaged Christmas 2001 as well (December 21st to be exact). I cannot believe it's almost a year too! It seemed then that March 2003 was so far away!

Why did you pick March as your wedding date?
My FH's younger brother was getting married in August and we wanted to make sure there was enough time between the weddings. We got engaged after them, but did not want to wait an extra 1-2 years (we are not getting any younger).

Marchbride
-
another reason we got married March also was because my only sister was getting married Sept 2002, and we also wanted to give us a decent amount of time in btw, and I didnt want (at the time) to wait longer then we were I was totally ready.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

We got engaged March 15,2002. We were together a little over two years. We had to wait a bit becuase my dad was so sick. We are having a two year engagement becuase we are paying for the whole wedding ourselves. We also picked March because the weather at the end of the month is not too bad, prices are less- a week later and the caterers were triple the price, and everyone in my family has something going on in the warmer months. We did get a great deal on all of our vendors so far because March is an off month.
MarchBride -were did you get your dress? I got mine at Estelle's on Rt110 and saved a bundle.
It is nice that we have a link for March brides. It just seems like it is never going to get here, we just reached the 496 day mark.......

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

I got my dress at Bridal Suite of Bayshore, which as most of you know, burned to the ground a few weeks ago. I just found out last week that none of my dresses were in the store (thank God). But they could not provide a definitive delivery date. I need to follow-up with them the first week in December to make sure everything gets there (my bridesmaids dresses were supposed to ship last week and my dress next week). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

We got engaged June 15, 2002.

We originally wanted to get married May 31, 2003, but the price per person dropped by half because we moved the date.

I have done all of the big stuff except booking a video person.

I am a little nervous, because I do not like being the center of attention. I need to get over this for the big day.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

I am glad everyday worked out with Bridal Suite of bayshore?

are they rebuilding?

I found my dress there but it was way too far for me to go for alterations and everything so I went someone more local, actually not to far from Job, which works out well.

I felt bad cause I had to keep going back to bridal sutie of bayshore to keep showing people my dress and see it again, since it was the only place that had the dress or had the dress and in my size, all the others stores I went to or called (called many) didnt have it or had it in bigger sizes. I must have been a pest.

WOW princess, you have lots of time, but take from all of us getting Married March 2003 - times flys by, as you know a whole year went by.

We are also paying for the wedding ourselves, but we have been together for 5 1/2 years now, and I was ready and money wise, more time Woulld be great right now, but it will all work out in the end. I hope, hee hee

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

I'm a little late posting but I am also a March bride!!! So happy that there are other March brides on this website.
I am getting married at Milleridge Cottage on 3/29.
Where is everyone taking pictures. My church is at 3PM in Queens and the cocktail hour starts at 7PM. I have about 2 hours to take pictures. WHere should I go? I've looked at Westbury Gardens and they are too expensive for our budget. Any suggestions?

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

Charlesgirl - my church is at 3 and my cocktail hour begins at 7 too,
my mother in law to be was not happy with all the time in between but I figured we have been to a ton of wedding like this, it has been stresssing me out, I have gone back and forth btw 6:30 and 7 pm forever. I decided on 7 (so far) still waiting on proof of invite, but I dont think I will change it.

Now about picture taking, well I dont really want to spend any more money and dont want to go out of the way, cause I will already be a Stressball that day anyway dont need anything to add to it.

So I will take pictures in Church, Hopefully not raining, so we will take pictures outside church too and in the yard and then if its not too windy or yucky want to take some on beach or boardwalk.

Then will take some outside hall and then inside hall.

Where in Queens is your church?

Now if it rains, I will be in trouble I guess, will just have to take pictures in chuch and hall, unless something better comes along.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

charliesgirl, I am 3/29 also. We got engaged 12/1/01, almost a year ago. We have been together for 11 1/2 years (since 11th grade). We picked March because we really wanted April during one of my vacations from medical school. However that date was taken and we were so set on the Vineyard and on a Saturday night that we just picked the closest date they had available. It will be a little crazy for me because I won't have any time off before or after the wedding. We were planning on holding off on the honeymoon until the summer anyway so that isn't such a big deal. I am just worried about getting the last minute stuff done. Everything always works out- it will just give me less time to obsess over the details. Which I am sure most of us have the tendency to do

I think it is so funny that so many of us are using VIP. What a coincidence.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

For all the March 2003 brides:

When are you planning on getting tuxes and limos (if you do not have them already)? I am in the process of ordering invitations, bridal party gifts, planning the rehearsal dinner, etc and I want to make sure that I leave plenty of time to get everything done.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

FH will go look at tuxes in December. He knows what he wants, but he still wants to try on a few.

Ordered invites last week!!
We are not getting limos. Both our ceremony and reception are at the same place. I will use the money saved to get a hotel room the night before the wedding so I do not have to travel to LI from Brooklyn.

Ordered the Bridesmaid dresses yesterday!
We still need to take our engagement photos.

We are honeymooning on a western Caribbean cruise. We will be stopping in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios.

I am now looking for paper to make my programs and menus.

Re: March 2003 Brides !!!!!!

Hi March ladies! FH and I got engaged on March 2nd, 2002 and will be getting married exactly 364 days later on March 1, 2003.

Why March? Honestly, we had a set budget and we had priorities. Getting married on a Saturday evening and having the reception at our #1 choice was at the top of the priority list and we didn't want to budge on either of those. Getting married in one of the warmer months was something that we agreed to forego to stay within the ball park figure that we agreed upon. We've also been together since we met in college (7 years ago) and didn't want to wait until October or November of 2003.
....About time we got the show on the road

Because we are on 'THE FIRST'...we have almost all of our vendors done except florist...
Limo booked, Star Limos pick-up and drop off, Tuxes picked out but not ordered yet from Wedding Center in Westbury, Invitations - customized and ordered from LA Productions.

Honeymoon...7 day cruise, Royal Carribbean, Western Carribbean..Labadee, Haiti -Ochos Rios, Jamaica -Georgetown, Grand Caymen -Cozumel, Mexico. CAN'T WAIT!
