I meant he is prob a nutbag for spending 5 years in a cage!
that is a little insulting i don't think McCain was a nutbag after he decided to stay in that prison until all of his men were leaving with him. I call that a hero and a good human being!!! not a nutbag
i took the comment to mean that how could his experience not have a psychological effect on him.....like, how could that experience not have a negative effect on someone - just like the soldiers who go off to war and do and see horrible things - that DEF has an effect on lots of people, ive seen it first hand - it doesnt mean you arent hero but those kinds of experiences can really change someone and not always for the better, some people get really messed up from experiences like that, it could be very traumatizing...
oh i completely understand 100% your reasoning in this post. But I don't know obviously pretty much everyone knows I am touchy when it comes to the military and those things. So calling him a nutbag was a little insulting i guess for all that he had done during that time in the military. And yes people can come home from that and be traumatized etc. But he wanting to stay and make sure his men were save and leaving with me shows me that he had agood head on his shoulders and wasn't effected in a bad way.
But i completely repsect your opinion!!

Ok I will be the first to admit that I do not educate myself enough on this to make comments BUT I can say it was nice to listen to a speach(es) by people who are well spoken, articulate and can pronounce BIG words!
Even small words. NUCLEAR is not a big word...yet if I hear him say nucular one more time I will scream. ahhh, GWB...he's special alright.
I agree!!!!!!!
I'll give him one thing: he's been great comic relief. Those iO ads with Frank Caliendo are friggin hilarious. So thank you, Mr. President, for that.

I refused to listen to him speak for the better part of the last 8 years (and not cause of what he was saying). I always said his speach writer/PR person has the hardest job in the world.

i dont know i think i get the touchyness from FH. He has been called 'crazy' several times from people he deosnt know just because he tells them he is a Marine or he was voluntarily going to Iraq. And not that he was crazy for volunteering but that he was just crazy in general. And he HATES when people think that because of stuff he does or did and has seen or is seeing now. And I completely understand him!!
But then again that is besides the point of this thread haha SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

I am going to have to disagree with the previous posters, this is pandering at it's WORST and most Hillary supporters will be smart enough to know that.
In addition, it will be kind of hard for his campaign to continue to attack Obama for his 'lack of experience'...
I never said it would WORK (I guess it could on undecideds, ya never know) I just said that this is was a crafted (smart as in crafted) move on McCain's part specifically designed to do just that, it's his INTENT, it may not have the effect he wants, I guess that remains to be seen.
She has NOTHING in common with Hillary fundamentally, she's super conservative, I think it's more for your middle american women who aren't that schooled in the finer points and just want to see a woman in office.
Yes, it might work for them. But I still think it's a dumb move I mean, would you hire someone at your office JUST because someone said, hey we need more women around here, even if the woman had NO experience????
I wouldn't, but remember, his party had to back this decision, they realize and understand the public relations aspect of him choosing a women...that's what I meant by smart, not smart as in correct.
Also, the situation you reference happens every single day in the workplace. It is what it is.
I'm lost....

While Mccain was my second choice for republicans, as well as Obama being my second choice for Democrats, I really hope whoever gets voted in can bring the country back up. In general I find politicians to be very sneaky and sleezy. I think they are all full of crap and make empty promises just to get votes. Its too bad!
Unfortunately that's true. What's worse is they make you believe you have a choice in who is elected...

Re: McCain chose his VP
i get the feeling even DH - once a staunch republican - is leaning toward Obama, which says a LOT. He won't tell me yet, but I can just tell. McCain picking a woman won't change that, and it's definitely not changing my opinion. Plus it really bugs me that he looks like a frog. I'm shallow I guess.

of course it doesn't make it right, did i say it did? it just happens a lot and any one who has had to deal with or witness it knows how frustrating it is.

No, I didn't say you did. I wasn't getting hostile at all in my response, just asking a question ...

I agree. I think it's a stupid move. She has hardly any experience in politics as far as I have seen. He should have picked someone with more experience, someone who could fill any holes he had in his own experience (like Obama did) and concentrate on picking someone who is going to help him lead, not just get votes.
Agreed!

interestingly enough - Palin is the ONLY candidate on the ENTIRE TICKET with executive experience. it's one things to make laws for the country and it's a completely different thing to run a government
brilliant move making her VP - she's an amazing woman and I am proud to vote for the ticket. this is a change i am willing to support.
Let me start off by saying I totally respect your opinion and find this healthy debate to be a much needed distraction on as very slow Friday at work.
That being said, your statement reminds me of how, back in 2000, everybody was trumping Bush's MBA as making him the most qualified candidate. Again, just my opinion, but the last 8 years have proven him to be anything but....
ok but what does that have to do with Palin? or how is that any different than what people are saying about Obama?

Now please don't take this in a bad way, I'm not meaning it to sound mean, but I really just don't get what your saying here... She may not have that much experience, but shes just the VP, not the president, I would MUCH rather have an inexperienced VP then President, especially when we have an economy that needs to be changed for the better.... I agree with you that they should have someone who can fill the wholes, but in all honesty Obama just has too many wholes to fill.
Personally I think its should be McCain and Biden, best of both sides, because both sides havent exactly proven themselves in the past lol
