Not asking this question to be inapropriate but....
Are we expected to abstain from relations with our FH's prior to the wedding I have heard anywhere from weeks to months from various people who have actually followed through.Do you think it would make the wedding night all the more special?

Re: Not asking this question to be inapropriate but....
I don't think 'expected' is the right word. It's a 100% personal decision. Some people believe once Pre-Cana takes place, it is proper to abstain. This is one of those super-personal decisions.

THeresa LMAO
nrvbrd, I think that there's no rule on abstaining once you're already sexually involved. It's a personal decision i guess if you want to make the wedding night 'special'
But it all goes back to the fact that in tradition, the Bride is suppossed to be a virgin, but once you're not, then the 'rule' doesnt apply, and you might want to abstain for a while for your own personal reasons

Re: Not asking this question to be inapropriate but....
I think it is totally up to you... For obvious reasons, it does make the wedding more 'special'- we are probably going to for a little....

LOL Theresa!!!
To answer the question. Yes I will be abstaining from any relations with FH. I mean I still have 10 months can't start refraining yet! haha! I would say about 1 month before, maybe??

Re: Not asking this question to be inapropriate but....
We started abstaining one month after our engagement, when we booked our date. Then we abstained again 3 months later, and then we abstained again 4 months after that. Now we are going to abstain at the end of this month.
Good luck doing it if you try ladies!
