So how are you ladies doing after the new years - how's married life for those married - and how's planning for the brides?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hi girls,Can you please recommend an indian makeup artist.
My family is not familiar on how to place and pin the dupatta so I feel like I need someone indian who will do it corrrectly. I don't think a non-indian vendor will be able to do this.
Thanks!!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hi!I thought I would continue the thread for 2009! I just recently got engaged, but I haven't set a wedding date yet. It seems that in order to sign up for this, I had to write down a wedding date so I guestimated :)
My fiance is from LI, but I'm from FL. I just wanted to see if any of your girls had any pictures or idea of the new trends this year.
I have not been to a wedding this year, so I don't really know the latest ideas for decorations, mandaps, centerpieces, colors and themes..etc.
Please post if you have any ideas! Thanks.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Need help deciding between:http://www.plantingfields.org/facolities/Wedding.cfm
This one has no inside for rain days… They do have a covered area though.
http://www.oldwestburygardens.org/Tour/tour_1.htm
You can go inside the mansion only on rain days for pictures.
One of my friends thinks the ops for pictures is so much nicer at planting fields but I love knowing that if it rains I have the indoors at the old westbury garden.
Have any of you guys taken pictures at either or...So I can see?
What my photographer says:
The place with more areas with shade is the best out of two. I think Planting Fields has more of that. Westbury Gardens is prettier & has more backgrounds, but they are all in the open.

Yes, that was our favor which also doubled as our placecard. We gave out keychains with four leaf clovers inside since my husband is Irish.
