Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

[

Can I just say that (non-Italian) people have asked me if 'that man' (Padre Pio) is my uncle because his pictures are all over my mother's house.

My mom has padre pio mounted about ever door way...I guess it's a superstitious thing...but, my dad always tells her he feels like he is in a church/sanctuary and to take them down..he's a little bit more modernized than my mom..

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

my dad is from caltabellotta (agrigento)
and my mom is from partinico (palermo) both in sicily. They came over in their early 30s and they barely speak any English. It is very annoying.

i used to have one snake ring with a little ruby eye. it was cute.

My fh is greek. I have taught him how to love both artichokes and eggplant. Now he orders a stuffed artichoke whenever we go to lil italy.

I ate rabbit once, cuz my mom told me it was chicken, but i knew right away she was lying and i have refused to eat it ever again... I love tripe though, but i doubt my catering hall will serve that. I also love VEAL and am proud of it - i dont care if it is a baby.

what has everyone gotten for favors? i went to this little store in whitestone and i love the set of 6 espresso cups and saucers that comes in the box, but my mom thinks that they are 'played out.' I dont know what to get.

OMG!!!! Padre Pio.........we had a picture of him in my parents bedroom and when my friends one day came over my house they thought that it was my mother's first husband........
Dont they know that an italian woman would never get married again??????
They couldn't understand why my father would allow another man in his bedroom

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

Anyone ever heard of this???

I was at a shower this weekend and the bride received a knife set. She handed the person who gave it to her some coins. She said it was a Sicilian Tradition (bad luck or something) Is this true? I come from Sicilian family and I have never heard of this!!! Strange!
