Hi Ladies! I'm new to this board and just saw this topic. My background is Colombian and FH is Italian. I want a good balance of music at the wedding too. Colombians are into salsa more than merengue. I will definitely want some songs and will give the DJ a list, but I don't want the other half to get bored. Hopefully, the DJ will get it just right!

Hi and welcome !! I suggest calling up Ultimate Sounds if you are from Queens they usually have a showcase at Dante's not sure the exact dates but they will let you know. I met with Frank and he was informative and show me dvd's of his DJ's in action. He has all nationalities that cater to call tastes just let Frank know what you would like. They are based out in East Elmhurst. HTH

Hola Chica!!! Everything is great!!!! OMG, the wedding was spectacular!!! I can't believe it was 91 degrees on my wedding day!!!!!! Crazy right! I have to give you girls the 411..lol. So you guys know how i won the contest...well they (don't want to mention their name cause you girls know who) made our wedding planning experience so miserable. So unorganized!! No communication. Pretty much left us in limbo!! At one point we were going to cut off the wedding. They didn't even show up to the wedding after promising us so many things. I mean things were bad! But you know what, God was looking over me because he gave me record breaking temperatures and an amazing wedding!! I was worried people were going to get motion sickness and they didn't. Everything was outstanding!!! In the end, all the stress was worth it because there was no way I was going to afford a $75,000 wedding on my own

I have to tell you, the night flew by!! I'm sad its over Girl, enjoy every second, every breath you take on your wedding day I can't believe yours is already around the corner!!! Sweet!!! You must be so excited!!!! It feels great being married I feel like I have a new love for my husband...can't really describe it..lol.

Sorry about the unorganized way they handled things but at least everything went thru perfectly and you had an amazing wedding..Congrats!!! I am so totally excited kind of nervous too but nonetheless excited

Thanks!!!! I'm just glad I didn't get screwed over by the vendors! I don't know what I would've done! I was surprise to have my pics ready the moment we were back from our hm!

I can't wait to see pics of you girls on your big day!!! Yours is right around the corner, just like Gloria's. So exciting!!!

Honey at least you got to pick your vendors ...I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I really wanted to use your DJ. The DJ they gave us was okay...I give him a B+. We had given him a CD with spanish music and he didn't know what to do. His mixes were so off when it came to spanish music. Thank God everyone was still on the dance floor. Your DJ is great! Which is so important!

haven't seen them but will in a few....girl...if you didn't live with him before marriage all I can say is be patient with one another. Living together was tough on me the 1st two months, just getting used to one another plus my 3 doggies...then again everyone is different. Just enjoy it to the max! Don't let little things bother you. Always make time for each other despite any busy schedules that you or he may have.

I'm a Latina bride too!! My name is Danielle. I am Puerto Rican and Spanish from Spain and Fh is not Latino, he's Scottish, English, Irish, maybe some Cherokee Indian in there, Dutch, German and I think that's it haha.
Some things I am doing that represent my Latina heritage are:
1.I am going to have carnations as my wedding flower ( red one's are the flower of Spain)
2. I am wearing a Mantilla Veil too!!! I love them they are soo pretty!
3. Salsa music WILL be played at the reception mixed in with other music as well but I cannot forget salsa. My DJ is Puerto Rican so he is going to get all of the good stuff for me
4. I wish I could hire flamenco dancers for entertainment while people are eating but I don't think that will be in the budget

I think that's all i have so far....I am so happy that there is a thread for Latina Brides!

Awwwwww....!! I've looked at them a million times..lol. I'm the same way. I get emotional when I look at couples wedding pics. I just picture myself there and feel the moment..lol. Such a special day!

Hi and welcome!! Wow flamenco dancers that would be fabulous to have but i can imagine alot of $$. Maybe you can inquire at a dance school see how much they go for? My DJ is PR too what company are you using?
