THank you. I really truly wanted a Valencia Cake (I had one for most my birthdays, so it was sentimental) from the Bronx for my wedding, but no one was going to hall that thing around in 90 degree weather when I got married. So I guess it is good that I didn't

So I ended up with this cake, which I loved..

My cake was...
Red Fondant bows, yellow cake with butter cream frosting and Strawberry & Cannoli cream filling.. yummmmmmmm

Thanks. Sometimes all the 'house' cakes need to look nice is a color that pops. Then add stuff to embellish it

Isn't Valencia the best, you have a sugar heartattack after it though (the frosting is like crystalized sugar goodness... hahaha)

As for your cake see if that can do that ribbon in a fondant. Oh your planned cake sounds delicious... red velvet.. I wanted to do that but I think red velvet would have been extra. Great now I am hungry toooo

I love the flowers on the valencia..yummy!!!! lol...i'll ask because i had asked them if they do fondant cakes and they said only buttercream. They did tell me i can bring a picture of a cake i want and they will do it..so hopefully they will only do the ribbon in fondant and the rest buttercream...i'm dying for wedding cake lol

Re: Official Latina Brides Thread

Oh and the only other thign about the fondant is that it can run if it gets too hot. & man it was 90 on my wedding & we were dancing & while they had the ac up, the poor cake had to fight to stay alive.

here is another shot of it that I friend took

I liked that it looked like a pyramid..lol
