Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I just spoke with the milleridge! FH and I are scheduled for our tasting and menu selection! I cannot wait! FH wants to taste the chateau briand... did anyone taste this dish? I've seen that others have chosen to go with the prime rib inestead... Also, I would like to taste the chicken florentine, anyone suggest otherwise? What about the salmon? I've read that the sole was dry...

Oooh... can I ask to taste different pieces of wedding cake? I sort of know what kind of flavor cake I want....

Desserts: I am looking forward to eating those swans! Any other desserts that FH and I should look out for?

Please share any other tid-bits or tips! Did I tell you guys that I am excited for our tasting??? Just in case, I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

We tasted the chateaubriand and we unanimously loved it! FH and I don't eat seafood, but my parents said the salmon was excellent.

I think, in order to taste a cake, you would need to buy one from the bake shop. We've been having unofficial cake tastings for the last few months -- every family birthday has had a cake we got from the Milleridge!

You don't get to try the desserts, either. We picked the ice cream parfait, although the pictures of the swans looked great!

Haven't done my review yet - patience is a virtue

BUT I can tell you that everyone has done nothing but rave about the food, service and place since Sunday. My MOH whispered to me that it was far and away the best wedding food she's ever had (but couldn't say it too loud because a bunch of couples whose weddings we've already attended were right there). We had Steve and he was great. We opted for the crepe florentine for appetizer and people went crazy for it! The chocolate mousse was also a tremendous hit. Cake was really good too (we ate some on Mon and last night, we're not saving it for our year anniversary). Any questions, please feel free to ask - FM, thread, whatever. I'll post the review as soon as I have the proofs, I think that the visuals with the reviews will be very helpful.

Eogara - what chicken dish did you go with? I LOVED the chicken florentine but didn't want spinach appetizer and dish...

Same here. We went chicken francaise. Decided that the people who order chicken at a wedding would probably want something kind of boring anyway (no offense to the wedding-chicken eaters )

Anyone willing to share their pricing with me, through FM? I am going for a tasting on Saturday and think I might book (yikes!) my date. I just want to see what other people are paying so I'm not taken advantage of. Anyone negotiate the price? Thanks girls!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Just wanted to say hi & thanks for all the great reviews on this thread. I'm getting married in the evening on 4/22/06 at the Cottage. I have heard great things from people who have been guests at the Milleridge, but this is the first I have heard from other brides. Thanks to lilacwine for directing me here from the knot!
