Re: Paging all Latin Brides

So where are all my latin brides in their planning? Also what hispanic tradition or culture are you incorporating in your wedding?

I am having shot glasses, and Bacardi bottles as favors, does that say Puerto Rico or what?

also two musicians - trumpet and Percusssionist. Its going to sound hot with the salsa.

I basically have all my vendors booked just have to focus on planning RD and my stuff like makeup and hair trail, shoes, undergarments etc.. I have pre cana this weekend.

BTW: I guess I am the only one that loves J.LO!!

Re: Paging all Latin Brides

For DJ's...I have this saved. Good luck ladies!

These are the 3 companies in the Tri-State area that are Spanish owned...

Diamond Productions - I used them...you can read my review!

Elegancia - very popular. Quite a few girls have used them, see above review.

Sonido Con Clase - (718) 437-2080

This one also gets good reviews, not Latin owned, but very classy:

A Starry Night - Gabriella is supposed to be amazing

It came from this thread...

Re: Paging all Latin Brides

I am using Sonido con clase. Camilo is absolutely awesome. If you want a serious latin flavor to your music, you have to give him a call. We went to see him yesterday and he just reminded us how happy we were the first time we met with him. We're going this Sat. for our playlist and he said he'll play all kind of songs for us to listen too. He's really great. But of course you may think I'm biased.

I promise you won't be disappointed if you call.

Re: Paging all Latin Brides

Mostly our tradition will be in our music. I love your idea of the shot glasses with the bacardi bottle. That's an awesome PRican touch!!!

We're debating on having a precussionist, FH wants it really bad, but our budget might not be able to afford it. We'll see with that. He definitely wants Plena music played he loves it and so do I. (Probably duing our CH) We're having spanish music played as our bridal party comes out and when we come up in the elevator. Our DJ gave us some great options. Oh yeah, and gotta have our Coronas.

FH almost said Budweiser but I was like, lets have Coronas instead.

Definitely having bacardi served.

Re: Paging all Latin Brides

We're having a percussionist in the band, a cigar roller during the cocktail hour, I'm looking for a song still to dance with my father and during the CH we're having PERNIL! Well, Roast Suckling Pig actually but it comes with empanadas and there will be arroz con pollo. Can't wait, I'm carb deprived!

Sounds so yummy!!! My sister had the pernil and empanadas at her CH. She made me run and get it for her while she was in her suite.

Yes definately need the Coronas...I recently found out that our contract doesnt include Coronas. I went straight to Leonards and was like I need Coronas for the reception, unless you want to start a riot!!

We're definitely having Pernil or Lechon, they were gonna give us ham, I was like 'HELLO we're PRican we need Lechon' he just laughed and said OK. Arroz con Gandules and arroz con pollo is also something we're having also, we had to change the CH menu but they were very accomodating and totally understood. I didn't think of empanadas, I might ask for that too. I love them.

Try tamales, too! LOL We're having those also.
I have to say, I was very lucky with our RH. Our menu options included quite a few Latin touches. Helps to balance out FH's Italian side.

Re: Paging all Latin Brides

I posted this with a poll on the board, but wanted to get some latina opinions.

this is DJ related:
we got a price quote from Elegancia, and i'm loving the company but not happy about the price as it's over the budget we intended to spend. i know you ladies all know how darn hard it is to get a reputable and/or 'high end' latin DJ here in Long Island! so this is what we were quoted:

-1 DJ
-1 MC
-Music for ceremony, CH, reception
(about 6 hours total + they arrive about 2 hrs. before ceremony to set up)
-Computerized Light Show for Grand Entrance and Dancing [basically lots of color lights and shows to coordinate with the music being played]

the price: $2375 (tax included)

how's this sound to you ladies?

I had the same problem. I liked them but they were soooo pricey. I'm paying half of that for everything that you have plus give a ways. Good luck! www.ultimatesounddjs.com They are located in Queens.
