What was your first meeting with your future in-laws like????
I first met FMIL and FFIL at my grandfather's funeral! My grandfather passed away about a month after FH and I met, so he came to the funeral. Well his parents decided to come with. I had no idea they were coming, so I was kind of shocked when I saw them.
Hey, at least I was dressed and done up all nice

FH's mom passed away when he was 13 so sadly I never met her. (which is the reason I never can reply to the FMIL issue posts on here).
I met FFIL, in passing the first time I was leaving his house as he was getting home from work we were introduced but that was all.
Offically we met and got to know eachother at the hospital while Matt was in a coma. He has a long itme GF also and that is where I first met her as well. It was certainly awkward but I think we were all support for eachother so they took to me well, after they saw my dedication to FH.
So yea definatly not the ideal meeting of the FIL's

My first meeting with FMIL was about 1 month after we started dating. We all went out to eat, where she proceeded to give us a sex talk and told us to make sure we used something. Could you imagine???? 15 min into dinner and hearing this at age 40 something!!!!! I should have realized then what I was in for with her!

Hahah I love your answer Lsorrent lol......
I actually still think about the first time I met them and I actually tear up a little when I think about it i.e. sap haha....
Soo we hadn't even officially started dating yet and fh and his friends were doing a party bus. So, I was going to go and actually sleep over his house. He was so respectful too, me and his brother's gf at the time (fiance now too) slept in their bedroom and they slept in the basement. Anyway I remember his mom was very welcoming and kissed me hello she was outside as I pulled up. As I went to walk into his house I still remember like it was yesterday his dad standing at the door with this big goofy grin and I turned to fh and was like omg you look just like your dad lol. Anyway they were so awesome and funny and made me feel so comfortable. That night I actually stayed up the whole night and couldn't sleep bc I just couldn't believe that this had finally happened to me. I had found someone who cares about me just as much if not more than how I care about him and has this great family that I get to be apart of. I was so grateful for that that I just laid awake in awe and happiness and am still so grateful for them to this day. They treat me like one of their own, in good ways and bad haha I get yelled at every now and then lol but I know they would do anything for me and they have proved that time and time again. Don't get me wrong nothings perfect we have our moments, but I know I couldn't find better inlaws out there and I love them very much.
Okay sorry for the long answer lol

met FMIL at a greek fair in queens. it was very low key, which was cool. it was really funny though because she tried to say somethign but the words came out all jumbled...so it came out as 'i am glad i got to meet the person that captured my son's heart.' which was really sweet!!! but she was emotional saying it and focused on the 'captured' part, so FH, FSIL and FBIL were all joking about it and joking that i was a pirate.. arr, matey. LOL
anyway, FFIL was out of the country then. so i met him in the fall. i think the first time was when i was at FH's house kissing him g'bye and then his father drove up. LOL.
fun stuff :)

i met the future parents in law only 2 weeks into our dating. My FH had recently graduated from law school and his family was throwing him a graduation party at the Coral House and he invited me. I met them right before the party...i was a nervous wreck.
Funny tid bit. At the party, the facility had screwed up some menus on some tables and placed menu cards for a wedding that was going on next door and someone joked that our relationship was moving very fast! I was mortified right then and there but looking back it's kinda funny. :)

I met FFIL the first day I met FH which was at the track, but it was before i started even seeing FH
FMIL, I met a month after we started seeing each other. We went out to dinner for FH's b-day with his brother/wife, sister/husband, and then we went back to FH's house and I met his mom, I was very nervous and it was kind of akward.

OMGGGGGGGGGGg
First meeting with FH's: grandmother, sister, brother in law, neice, brother was Christmas Day.
I was still drunk from XMAS EVE!!! The room was spinning, I nearly fell over in the shower. He called me at 3pm to come out to Holbrook from Islip. I thought I'd get pulled over for DUI for sure. I didn't want to say no though. I went and I did not want to eat ANYTHING but bread and water. Since they are Italian, they are food pushers. Oh I couldn't wait to go home and puke again.
As for his father, I don't remember but I do remember being very nervous about it based on what I had heard from all of them.

the first time i met Jackie's parents was just a random night that i came to her house. her mom and her brother were both in the kitchen talking. i knew her brother from years prior, so it was cool seeing him again. it also made me feel very comfortable. her mom and i had communications through jackie on the phone, so i wasnt too nervous. besides... i love meeting mothers. i like to think i'm good with them.
jackie's father was downstairs at the time, and when he came up.. i met him. for the first time in my life, i wasnt intimidated by the girl i was dating's father. he was cool... he was funny. we laughed at each others jokes. although he didtry to act fatherly. he was yelling at jackie about too many plugs in one socket. lol

Well FH invited me over for a BBQ at his parents house. I met both my in-laws and they were sooo sweet.
We had spent the day just hanging by the pool and eating. Towards the end of the day, FMIL pulled me to the side and said to me I want to let you know that I think you are the most sweetest girl and that I can see how much you love my son.
She said from now on you can call me mom. So I call them Mom and Dad.

Two weeks after we started dating, FH told me he was going to take me by to meet his parents. I was so nervous!! I went out and bought a new shirt and everything. When I got there he rang the bell and FMIL answered the door. To both of our surprises he didnt tell them I was coming by. He introduced me as his friend and for the next 3 hours I was sitting with these people speaking Italian and staring at me.. Then at the end of the night, his mother said that her son never brings girls by the house and that I must be someone special... I guess I was..
