Well the biggest problem has been about not letting kids come! I have told my Aunts sorry no kids , but then they say we will pay for their plate. Ok well I still have 40 more kids parents that would start complaining. I said sorry if i say yes to one then I have to say Yes to all. ANd there is no way in hell I was having 40 kids running around!! They were mad, but I put my foot down!

As of this moment, I haven't heard any complaints. But just b/c I havent heard anything, doesn't mean that they are not actually complaining lol I'm sure once invites go out or it gets closer to the shower or wedding or something, people will start b*tching.

My family is famous for b*tching and complaining

So far it's only been the blank RSVP that we received with only a check mark on 'will attend'. No idea who it is or how many!

ETS:Sorry I misread it....I guess that is my complaint so far!

My FMIL didn't want me to put 'Black Tie Optional' on the invites.

Why not? What harm does she see in that?

I'm sorry, people just need to get over themselves. It's one day. Why can't people just have a night out and not be so difficult.

I'm sympathetic about people with babies. I understand that it is difficult to find someone to leave a baby with for the evening. But, as in your case, people also forget the position they put you in by asking you to make an exception. You also have to worry about creating hard feelings if you allow one and not another.

ETA:
I haven't sent my invitations out yet, so I'm looking forward to that part of it.

Like I said in the other post, there will ALWAYS be someone who has something to say!

The hardest thing for me with the 'No Kids Policy' was convincing my FH. That was countless days of arguing until he finally came to his senses! IMO A parent shouldn't want/need to bring their children to a wedding that has 2 ponds and is open bar. It's just not a child-friendly event.

I have two:

1.) ' You are having the ceremony on the south shore and the reception is on the north shore....'

Well, Its all of 35 min from point A to B- we timed it to see if it was a bad drive BEFORE we booked it!

2.) 'The hotel is sooo much money. Can you find a a cheaper one?'.

Um, Lets see- I did look for a cheaper one and its JULY on Long Island!

I've already had 1 person ask why we're having the wedding on Sunday rather than Saturday (forgive me for not wanting to pay $50 more per person just so you can sleep in the next day )

and another person has asked why we're getting married at my chuch in Queens rather than at FH's church in the Bronx which is easier for this guest to get to

ps - both complaints have come from FH's relatives...

THIS has been the biggest problem for us too. Infact a certain group are even coming without their SO and telling us they dont have someone to watch the kid so only one can come. Meanwhile I was going to hire a babysitter that night but WOW now i think why should I

eh don't worry they'll get over it. Last year it just so happened that every wedding we went to was on a Sunday, well except one in november that was on a friday. Once they get there they'll have a great time and forget they even complained
