YAY!!! You are the first person to ever respond about the cake - i've started like 4 topics in the past about it...
I'm soooo glad to hear that it's yummy!!! They don't allow tastings which I find odd - but go with the flow I guess...

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
I'm looking to book at the Fox Hollow, and as some of you may have seen from an earlier post, I'm having trouble with the band I want to book. They don;t have insurance (but they are looking into it) and of course the fox hollow requires all vendors to have insurance.Did any of you have this problem with a band? Did the Fox Hollow offer to help at all (ie give you names of insurance companies, etc or give you advice)? Just curious.
I am looking at other bands, but this band is one of the things my fiance is really excited about. They are also super cheap - not your standard $3-8K wedding band - and terrific.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Not to sound mean but I don't think the hall is concerned with getting your vendors insurance because they can simply just say no.I think you should try to shop around, I don't know how much I'd trust a professional company with no insurance. Almost all halls require that vendors have insurance.
Good luck with everything though!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Hi everyone,This is my first post here. To introduce myself, I'm Carolyn from Queens, and my fiancé and I just booked Fox Hollow today for our November '08 wedding. So glad to find other FH brides here!
Actually, I found this thread quite by accident. Based on our friends' recommendation tonight over dinner, I googled 'Fox Hollow' and 'Sherwood Triart Photo' and found such great reviews here. I got hooked reading all the pros and very few cons. We haven't booked any vendors yet with the exception of FH, so I'm looking forward to reading more great recommendations for photo, video, florists, etc. from any and all brides who are willing to share their opinions.
I have a lot of experience in b&w photo development from my years working in my college newspaper darkroom, plus I worked at a photo processing house (where professional photogs drop off their film) so outstanding photojournalistic photography is extremely important to me. I'm a teacher and trying to do as much research as I can now during the summer, before school begins and lesson plans take over!
Thanks in advance for any advice you may have to share, and I look forward to getting to know you all and share in your planning too. :)

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Does anyone know what the Fox Hollow's capabilities are for playing music (via iPod or CD) at the ceremony? I am planning to have mine outdoors (but may have to move it indoors in case of rain/cold weather) and am thinking of just having a few cds played instead of hiring a live musician. Do they have this capability indoors and out? Would someone from the FH play DJ for me or would I have to designate a guest to do so?(Or should I just have someone bring a CD player???)
Any help is appreciated!

i actually called about this , and they told me they do CD's. they have someone to play it..... however, when i booked my dj, he highly recomended me NOT to use the hall's music. that really isnt their job, and it could get messed up, and really its the most important part of the wedding, i splurged an extra 200 bucks to make sure the music goes right!!

Thanks Deanna. Did they say they can do the CDs whether it's indoors or out??
I am having a band. If I were having a DJ I would ask him to cover this too .... I may just hire a keyboardist who can sing or something, my ceremony will be super short so how much could it be for 30 mins of play time?

im pretty sure they can do both. he was saying of course they will play the music if none was provided.... but yea maybe you can hire someone if its not too much. unless you trust the people at fox hollow. my dj just made such a good point when he said it was the most important part...and he is right. you have time, so maybe you can get some quotes.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Yeah, I'm going to ask around re: live musicians. I have a few friends who are teachers, one who is a music teacher, so I am going to see if she knows any other teachers with good voices who could do it for a pretty cheap rate.Welcome New Vendors
