WF is more likely to work with you. Let me know how it goes with Danny. And be up front about your budget as well. They really try to work with your budget, more so than other florist....

Yep well that is what I did as well! It was so funny bc Surf was the 1st place we saw and we just felt that it was out of budget so I threw out the folder and when we signed with Jamie he was saying how some girls really are into the folder but i can tell you are not! I showed up using CB folder lololol!

Yea, he threw out the stuff lol...

Yeah, its kinda out dated too I think. B.c they had florist in there that we couldn't use lol. But thats ok.


Soooooo I am going up there this weekend. I'm sort of nervous! I haven't seen it since the renovation, and I think I'm going to vomit when I see it. I am envisioning a war zone lol. But I have faith! I am bringing my camera with me, maybe if there's anything, I can take some pics for a sneak preview... or to share my shock... either or lol.

I never but I heard from tons of people that it really is good and the service is AMAZING!!

but yes i actually went to a wedding there last summer (actually it was a girl from LIW who invited me b/c she was under her minimum) the food was AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG and it was so pretty!

I am using the upstairs room (I forgot the names I know I'm awful) but I had a question... I know that they had bridal suites up there.. and I assumed that was for the bridal party of the wedding upstairs. Then, someone told me that they thought the downstairs wedding ALSO had their bridal suites up there?????????? Is this true??????? Or are there bridal suites downstairs?????????? I dont really want another bride upstairs right by me and my guests on my wedding!!! SOOO really curious!

I'm getting married at The Surf Club on 9/5/09 at 11:30 A.M. My BM is Carlo...who is gets back to you pretty quickly on e-mail.

I need to pick out a florist...but we are trying to stay within our budget so probably go with some high and some low centerpieces. We were able to book the room downstairs eventhough we only contracted for 150 people.

Do you ladies know the 3 florists that we have the option to use?

I'm SOOO EXCITED to see it renovated!!!! It's going to look so beautiful!!!!

Oh...I forgot to add that I blocked rooms at both The Residence Inn and The Radisson. The Residence Inn is really nice because its all suites so that's where the bridal party will get dressed. I blocked rooms at The Radisson because it gives family a cheaper option.

Yup they sure are! BTW I was there on Saturday and the place is surrounded by dumpster! I hope they hurry to get it done! I was looking at the pictures of what it will look like and it is going to be STUNNING!!!! Double stair case, soft Tuscan colors, a huge foundation in the front! I can hardly wait!

Do you know the names of the limo companies?
On Surf website(which is so depressing!)has all these vendors but I think they are old b.c Odessey is one of the florists.

I can tell by the picture and the website of DG that it us super pricey! I am def going to ask my uncle for a decent quote and see what Westchester Floral will tell me or match it.

Are you ladies using them WF or DG for everything or just for the hall decorations?

Use westchester Floral and ask for Danny. The 3rd florist is no longer contracted with them. DG does amazing work but really really expensive! We booked westchester floral and Danny was very flexible....

Hey guys, so I went by the surf club yesterday. fh and i decided to change the date from mar 20 to may 15 -- hello, its march now and theres a blizzard outside!

i spoke to the receptionist and she said even she has yet to see the inside. they haven't worked on the fountain yet and it actually isnt coming in until the fisrt week of MAY?? somehow they're going to throw in a fountain in one week and have their 'grand opening' bridal show by the 2nd or 3rd week (of course i asked -- we want to try the food and see the place already!) not sure if they're disillusioned but i'm not worried as i have a year from that point for them to get it together.

they did give me a cd with a couple of 'pictures' (more like sketches) of the new place but im sure you guys already saw that. one thing i was wondering -- are they replacing those chairs? i think theyre awful and should go with the standard ballroom chairs like this:

just curious if anyone is planning to swing by soon and may want to ask haha. i'm already trying to think of color schemes and the chairs are not working into my master plan!
