THE WORST & BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.

I have some TERRIBLE news to tell everyone about.

Sunday, 3/9 was my shower - I knew about it....started at 430pm.

Well, Sunday morning my dog (who we only had for about 7 months) got out of the yard and was hit by a car and died.

We got a knock on our door from the kids across the street, saying Max just got hit...we rushed down the road (busy street) and there he was laying in the middle of the road...still alive, but barely.

We put him on a board & just 30 seconds in the car, he passed away in my arms.

My fh and I are completely devastated. We lost our first son...it's so quiet in the house. We have been crying non-stop. My fh buried him with his father yesterday.

I'm still in shock this happened....and on the day of my shower...I'm attaching a pic of him.

He was my little baby - followed me everywhere. Even when I was on the computer - see pic.

I am so so sorry for your loss ... and that this happened on the day of your shower. I can't even imagine how tough that was for you, to be there trying to keep it together and to celebrate with everyone when something so tragic happened. You're baby looks like he was the sweetest dog ever.

OMG I am so sorry!!!! This is so sad... I don't know you or your pup but this made me tear up!!! I know how hard it is to lose a pet, especially so tragically. My heart goes out to you and your FH...

I hope you were able to still enjoy your shower somewhat...?

I was tempted to postpone, but I was able to pull it together for a few hours...it was beautiful. I think that being with the people I love and love me helped me deal for that little time. As people starting leaving, I began to get sad again. This is the toughest thing we have ever dealt with.

oh no I am soo sorry. I dont know what I would do if my puppy got hit!! I would be soo upset.

No the person that hit him did NOT stop...crazy, right? I could NEVER...but, I try to think that maybe he/she was soooo scared/nervous..Idk - it's no one's fault.

I am SO SO SO sorry for your loss!!!! I cannot even imagine - it's SO hard to lose a beloved pet - they are part of the family! I would totally lose it if something happened to my dog. Our other dog passed away from cancer last July and that was so incredibly hard.
