Weight Watchers...again

Original post by Thrilled

Just ignore if you don't want to read this...
I have tried and failed WW now 6 times. I checked my bank balance yesterday and saw that WW had put through the online service (which I had approved and asked them for etc) and I took it as a sign to go ahead and give it one last go. ON top of that Fergie was on Larry King Live last night and she looks friggin fabulous...another sign.

So I need lots of support!!! Let's hang in there together. I'm getting married 9-6-03, so the way I figure it, I have about 34 weeks or so to lose 25-40 lbs, which can be done! HELP ME GIRLS!

How sweet of you Dawn!!

I'm curious about this olive oil spray too!

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Hi guys - according to the WW website, the olive oil spray (I use Pam oilve oil spray, found it at Met) is zero points for 5 quick, 1 second blasts. I used it for my pasta last week (2 cups of cooked pasta =6 pts) and it was totally fine! Didn't need anymore than that. On the flip side, if you use a tablespoon of olive oil (and most of us use more), that's 4 pts!!!!!!!!! The pasta I made with the olive oil spray was not greasy at all and had the right amount of oiliness to it.

Re the parmesan and stuff....I can only tell you guys that buying a scale was the best thing I EVER did with regards to this diet. I realize one can't bring the scale to a restaurant, but when making the pasta at home, I weigh and measure everything. I kept adding parmesan to the scale until it said 1 oz, which was 3 pts. It was a ton of cheese, too. As far as ordering pasta in a restaurant, my best advice to you is to either skip the pasta (you truly don't know what they put in the dishes) or order it with tomato sauce (again, tricky b/c what if it was made with a cream base) and totally undero the parm, since you can't measure it. Bear in mind also that in restaurants they're typically going to give you about 3 cups worth of cooked pasta. Cooked totally plain, that's already 9 pts!!!! That's if you eat the whole thing.
I guess it comes down to what your true motivation is and whether that pasta is really worth it.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

I just ate like a 10 pt lunch, once again screwing myself for tonight. I now have 6.5 pts left. Makes me so mad when I do this!

Re: Weight Watchers...again

I've been doing that to myself lately. So today, I did not have my cereal bar, it was tough, but that was 3 points I saved. Last night I couldn't have my popcorn, I was so mad But, I went back to The Lovely Bones and was better.

Rachel, don't be mad at yourself, you are doing such a GREAT job! 4.5lbs is amazing! Cheer up!

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Thanks. I am always so scared I will lose focus and that is what has done me in in the past! Also - the **** lunch place told me that the broccoli was steamed, with no oil, so I got it, and when I got it upstairs I could see that it did have a slight oily sheen, which pi$$ed me off! I have to count those dayum points!

I know how you feel. The salad bar here, has the most delicious grilled veggies, but of course they are grilled with oil! What is the point??? I don't get it!

Stay strong! We are all here to help each other! You will not lose focus! I cannot wait to wear a pair of jeans that are NON STRETCH!

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Rachel, I am having a 10 pt lunch too... 2 servings of pasta with self made sauce (I followed ww recipe in pt. counter book)... It came out a bit too oniony, but OK...

I just came back from a meeting, and I lost 1.6 lbs.
I am actually happy about it, b/c I wasn't expecting to lose weight.

I had my little 5 points lunch of lean cuisine and just munching on some celery.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

LOLOLOLOL Lauren! ME TOO! I am so tired of wearing stretch jeans!

I was in Bloomies the other day with my skinny-legged size 8 BM, who tried on every single gorgeous pair of pants in the joint, and vowed - I freakin SWORE - that I would get into those pants by this summer! I also walked around looking at little party dresses suitable for the Rehearsal Dinner. I got all excited and then reminded myself - don't lose focus or you never WILL wear those pants/dresses!

Re: Weight Watchers...again

That's what I do!!! I just think about what kind of reward I'll give myself. Meaning the sexy little dress or the expensive pair of jeans! I am dying for a pair of Seven jeans but refuse to buy them in this size, so that's my first reward, as soon as I go down one, non stretch size in jeans!

Edited to say: by time that happens, there will be a new jean out and I won't even get to get them

Re: Weight Watchers...again

I am dying for a pair of good leather pants and thats my reward when i get to my goal. I want a pair of leather pants. Brian keeps asking me what am i going to do with them. Wear them of course silly. I'll have no place to really wear them too, but a nice pair of leather pants is what i want as my reward I'll wear them to go grocery shopping.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Chippa, I have a warning for you about leather pants, a friend of mine was looking for a pair and found one eventually, but the way they are usually cut is not flattering to a female figure, they usually have a guys cut, so the butt is tight, but the waist is too big... So when you go shopping, don't be disappointed if you won't find a pair quickly...
They are also pretty warm, so they're best worn outdoors...
