I think it depends on the florist - ours will bring the flowers and decorate the cake once they begin to put up the centerpieces. I think we may be getting a custom cake from an outside baker done - there are so many great designs I've seen that I can't part with

Are any of you using bands at the Westbury Manor? I always thought I would use a DJ, but we actually going with a band. I want to know the deal as far as having to feed everyone.

I am hoping to go with one of the cakes included. I can't see spending more $$ on the cake when I want that chocolate fountain
Yep.. not letting go of that one.
I really want it..

Same with me...I am having a band and I plan on feeding them. WM told me it would be a reduced rate for the band to eat.

I am having a band also. I love the sound of live music and instruments.WM gave me a reduced rate for feeding the vendors. I can't remember it off the top of my head though.

The cakes were nice. I got a 4 seperate layer cake where each layer is seperated. I think Burtons will decorate it. I will try to post a pic of one similar.

That is a very pretty cake.As far as the bands goes, I didn't know it was reduced price for them, so that's good. I was just worried because I have 8 people in my band. What band did everyone choose?

Just had to share:I was w/ my mom last night on Jericho Tpke and were just about to pass WM. I made a quick right into the parking lot. Couldn't help myself.
It looked so pretty with all the ligths on the trees!!! My mom hadn't seen it at night or seen the Manor room yet (there was a wedding in there last time I took her) So we popped our heads in the room real quick. It got me so excited again for this day!!! Although, now this little 5 minute detour is gonna probably cost me bucks b/c my mother thinks it'd be a great idea if FH and I and all the parents have dinner there one night prior to the wedding!!

We saw the lights also. I hope its not 20 degrees so we can take pics outside w/ the lights. It was gorgeous outside.

I say go to dinner with the parents. FH and I took our parents there on Father's Day of this year (our wedding will be Father's Day next year) and they loved it.

Yeah, i'm sure we'll all go there together for dinner. My original idea was for FH and I to go there in January for our 5th anniversay, but it turns out that is not one of his nights off anyway, so i might as well plan a nice eveing for all of us. It'll be so nice!

Does anyone know if they put a cake topper on the cake or if I should buy one?

I would think you would need to buy a cake topper. It is a personal thing. Better yet, see if someone gives you one as a gift

We're getting ready to go to WM this weekend to try to book for September 2005. I noticed that someone booked July 2005 - do you think my date is still available? I thought I might have luck since it's 2 years away but now I'm nervous.

I just read through about half of this thread and it's bringing back such memories. I just wanted to say that you all have wonderful weddings ahead of you and neither you nor your guests will be disappointed in WM. Enjoy every minute.

I booked in August for July 2005 and most dates were opened. I am sure you will be fine! You will get the date you want.

since your wedding is about 1 1/2 years away, I don't think you'll have a problem locking down the date - Congrats by the way - Its a great place
