I love that idea of leaving a note for the next bride Can you imagine the poor workers at WM after our weekend? They'll be shaking their heads wondering what hit the place

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I love the new ceilings .. they are great.

I didn't know they only offered you a certain cake and you had to pay the difference if it's different. I'm a little concerned about that as I do not want a foofy cake. Since I'm getting married in January, I want snowflakes on there with a ribbon made of fondant ... are they really going to charge me extra????
OK, not happy ...

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Jan05bride- What I was told is they have two books. One book includes cakes that are free or included in your price. The other book of cakes usually cost an additional amount and they also mentioned if I have a picture of a cake I want recreated depending on what it looks like it may cost more!!

This thread is such an awesome idea. I am so happy that we chose the WBM. We have been there 2x for PWP and the last showcase. We always peek into the garden room and library.

Anyone getting married the weekend of May 21?

Babybride - thanks for the info. I am devastated right now! I thought any cake I wanted was included ... I'm going to call and ask about this. Maybe I can finagle (spelling??) what I want for no extra cost!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I'm also a WM bride (Frank is my BM) -11/6/2004 from 1-6. We have the conservatory and library for cocktail hour and the Manor room for the reception.

I remember Frank telling me that if we took the Garden room there would be waitress service for the bar since its in the Library.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi Ladies - I am crashing your post as a former WM bride - I just got married there on 9/21 and wish i could do it all over again - the Wesbury Manor is the best!! Our wedding was in the Manor Room - the dance floor was enormous and people were dancing all night! The staff were so awesome, the food was amazing and people have been calling/e-mailing me for weeks to rave about it - WM brides, you have nothing to fear! The moment we pulled up, we were met with our Maitre de Chris and my bridal assistant Lorena were amazing! I didn't have to ask for a single thing - they were attentive and fun! Everyone raved about the food and the service. We were blessed with a beautiful day so we had the cocktail hour outside - we added a martini bar and a raw seafood boat and everyone was just blown away! The gardens were beautiful and the pictures came out gorgeous - while we were there for 1 1/2 hours before the cocktail hour taking photos they brought our parents and the bridal party our food and drinks as a pre-cocktail hour - amazing! DH and I were able to attend our full cocktail hour and actually managed to eat there and some of our dinner while still mingling at the tables. If I can help any of you ladies, please let me know. Susan Brita was my BM and I chose the menu with Alexandra - enjoy every moment!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Here a special something for all you westbury manor brides out there......

This is the darn peacock I'm obsessed with! Last time he was on the roof, this time he was walking around the outdoor cocktail hour area - I tried to take a pic of him and he decided to turn around on me - I am so determined to take a picture of this bird with his tail opened!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I love the peacocks. They will be so much fun to have there. I have visions of FH's nephew chasing the peacock at our cocktail hour

Tanbride- you are welcome to crash this thread. We want ALL Westbury Manor brides to join in--old and new.

there might not be any peacocks left for you to scream at Laura...I'm not kidding about the children coming to my wedding...they are BAD! How many 4 year olds do you know that got kicked out of nursery school

I know 2 and they're both coming!!!!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

And if Eroxgirl and Babybride's young guests don't kill the peacocks, FH's nephew may think it is his souvenir to bring back to Slovakia (FH's brother and SIL moved from Poland to Slovakia when his employer, Dell, transferred his brother there)

I wonder who is getting married there during the afternoon on my day...
