Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I'm already doing a day wedding, and I've thought about switching to the manor room a thousand times already but I still think I'm going to balance out somewhere around 140. I'm going there on Sunday so I'll talk to someone then. But just to lay blame (because I just HAVE TO, lol) its all the FREAKIN KIDS that I suddenly had to invite that is causing the problem. Sometimes I hate people sooooo much its not funny....and by people I mean FIL's and the freakin guilt trips they lay on FH...

Hey Rebecca-Don't worry!
Things will work out. Talk to the BM when you go and see what he says, but it sounds like you have plenty of space having the library space also. If it gets tight people can take a breather in there!
I also got the Four Seasons menu last November, but I think there is a new menu coming out. At least I know Chateau Briand is rolling out a new one in a month or so according to the Restaurant Manager so WM may be adding things too!!!!

Rebecca,Yes they will put wine on the tables in either room - you just have to ask for it...there's no extra charge.
If all the extra people are kids - don't worry...they'll be up dancing!! Kids never sit still. You'll be fine!!! I always forget about the outside (b/c I'm getting married in November so I don't consider that an option for me!! brrrr)

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Annette=-here is a photo of my dais table - the WM actually attachs the wedding cake table to the dais table in the Manor Room. I used my bridesmaid and my bouquets on the table as well as I had my florist put rose petals on the tables and the WM took my engagement photo from my placeard table and put it on the cake table. The bride and grooms table is not that big considering all the dishes, toasting flutes, glasses, etc.The WM gives you candlesticks but I took them off and put pillar candles instead - also, I used my 2 alter flower arrangements and put them behind the dais as you can see in the photo. I hope that helps!

I remember asking Dave what the worst-case scenario was with regard to the number that fits in the room. He said he once fit 168 people in the Garden room. Hope that helps.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Hey ladies,Sorry I got everyone worked up over the Garden room. I was just concerned because when you look at the scotto bros website and look at the room set-up there are 11 tables. I found out last night that the way they fit more people in the room is by putting an extension on top of the existing table to fit 12-14 people at a table which extends to the dance floor a little. Becuase I was stressing I called my BM Gennaro and he assured me the room fits 150. At our meeting with him when we booked he said he wouldn't put more than 130-140 in the room, Hence my whole freak session :) But there are some very good points being made.
1) Hardly anyone will sit in thier seat all night.
people will be mingling.
2) There is the library room and the gardens for people to roam.
3) Lets not forget that people will dance.
So these few point have calmed me down.
We have also put together an A and B list. When we order our invitations we will have most with an earlier due date and send them out 10-12 weeks prior then the second round will go out a respectable 8 weeks before with a later due date. That way one one wil know they were B listed I hope.
All will be fine.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I picked out my menu last night at the Westbury Manor. I had the worst experience.First Alexandra was 25 minutes late. I rushed home from work. We got in the car and drove straight to the WM. Got there at 7:00pm on the nose and she was 25 minutes late. I never got to eat - if I had known she was running behind we would have stopped for a slice a pizza.
When we finally met with her - she rushed us through the entire thing in half an hour. For the money that we are paying I deserved better treatment than what I got last night. I was very disappointed.
When I got home we realized that we still had a bunch of questions. We were not happy with all the food we ordered, and I am definately not happy with the linens I picked. She threw the linen samples at me and said choose. I was really upset when I got home.

OH NO Regina!! That's horrible!!! I didn't have that experience with her but I would call your banquet manager ASAP and tell them - that's completely unprofessional and rude!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Regina, thats so bad, you know I actually called htem yesterday to have a copy of the menu mailed to me and the receptionist was soo damn rude, she didnt help me at all and told me to wait until I came in to make our selections to see the new menu. MY BM was not there so I guess Ill have to wait a few more days. The menu that I have is not hte 4 sesons one that you all have mentioned.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Do not settle for that kind of treatment!
Believe me, if ANYONE treats me like that I'll tear them a new one. I'm not spending the money I'm spending to be treated like I'm waiting for government cheese and neither are any of you! They work for YOU -- remember that and don't be afraid to remind them of that as well!
to you

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I called Alexandra this morning. I told her about all the changes that I wanted. She seemed really disinterested. So much so, I wasnt sure if she was taking any notes. So I called up my Banquet Manager, the guy who I originally signed contract with, and he was out. I talked to Gennaro. And I went over everything with him. I explained that I was disappointed with the service last night, and he never even apologized. Just makes me angry to spend this kind of money for no service.
I going to go to WM on Sunday to look at the linen again. I am not leaving until it is right!!
