Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

That is so weird for them to be like that. When I called Susan Bria (my BM) last week because I had a question, she was so nice. She reassured me to call whenever I have questions. She was so nice.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Whoa... Regina, do not stand for that treatment. My advice is this.. I woud schedule another appointment with Alexandria and calmly let her know that you felt very rushed and very disappointed by the way your and your FI were treated. That you are not paying this money to be rushed. Tell her that her actions and lack of interest are very opposite of what you know to be the infamous Scotto Brothers treatment. You would expect this from a Holiday Inn banquet hall but not a Scotto Brothers property. :) You would appreciate it if she would allot the appropriate amount of time for you and you FI to make your selections.

That is what I would do. I am also surprised Gennaro was not more accomodating. He is my BM and he has been really great so far.

Anyway, I wish you luck. In the end it will all work out.

Sorry to hear that Regina. I'm happy to hear that you are going back there to straighten everything out. Make sure you take all the time you need in order to make all your decisions and address any concerns. Hopefully this is only a small hiccup.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I went and had dinner with my mom - it was the first time she saw the place. And she's such a food person, I was so afraid that something wouldn't be right - but she loved the food, she liked the room and the grounds.

I also took another look at my list and realized my mom had added on all these relatives we have in Australia that are definitely not coming so when I took them off the list I had 150 people so I'm no longer worried about my room at all...although we could see the Manor room from the outside when I was showing her the grounds and she was like oooh, if we invite another 50 people you can have that room (it was all set up for a wedding)...but I told her NO MORE!

Now I just want my wedding to hurry up and get here!!

Hey Tanbride thanks for the pics. Regina I hope everything worked out. When I called with a concern a few months back the receptionest was rude to me as well. But my BM Susan has been very helpful and accomodating. Hope everything worked out...keep us posted.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

My florist was Flower Michele and I can't rave enough, John was amazing!!! Definitely go see him!

Julie - from what i remember cake fillings included, vanille & chocolate mouse, canoli, strawberries, mocha chocolate mouse, etc. I think they had pretty much standard ones.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I had the cannoli filling at a wedding at the Fox Hollow and it was sooo yummy!!! And since all the cakes come from the same place that might be my choice.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi I am new to this website but I am also a WM bride. I was wondering if anyone is using anything other than flowers for their centerpieces. If so what and do you have any pictures. I was thinking of doing candles, possibly hurricane lamps,( I am in the manor room) but I am not sure how this would look. Any suggestions? Also does anyone know anything about flowers? I am clueless. My bridesmaids dresses are going to be sage and my wedding is in May but I have no idea what color or types of flowers would look good.
Thanks for your help

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

May04 Bride you are getting married the weekend before me :) I think hurricane lamps in the manor room would be nice. I went to a floral coordinator last week (Party Sensation) and she blew me away with her prices. I am going to see John at Flower Michelle as well as Jack from Jack and Rose. Many people recommend them both.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Thanks! I was shocked at some of the prices I was given for flowers so I think I may try the hurricane lamps. I found one on-line at crate and barrel that I liked but when I went to go buy one it was enormous. I am now trying to find a smaller one. I am still going to price around flowers though. If you find anything good please let me know. This is all so overwhelming!

I am putting flowers on tiered trays. I haven't gotten a florist yet. Going to see one tomorrow.
