yeah right!
No discounts at all and I don't even think that they gave us the bridal suite that i specifically resereved months in advnace. The hotel is beautiful thought and their complimentary breakfest is yummy!

What makes the Bridal Suite so unique?

My guests are staying at the Holiday inn. I am not sure where my FH and I will be styaing yet. I stayed at the Fox Hollow for another wedding. It is gorgeous there.I was thinking of possibly staying at the Garden City Hotel. Does anyone know how far it is from the Westbury Manor?

Thanks.Where is the Wingate? Is that a nice hotel? I am not that familiar with the hotels aroudn there. We were thinking of staying at the garden city hotel because I herad it is nice. It seems very expensive though.

I thought about the Garden City Hotel too and it seems ridiculous to spend so much for the 'Bridal Suite'. Maybe we will just book a regular room there.

We're thinking of getting a regular room at the Garden City Hotel for the night of the wedding also. It seemed like a waste to me to spend over $500 when we're not even going to get there until like 1 AM.

I agree. A regular room would probably make the most sense. You would think these people would cut us a break knowing that we all just spent so much money!

A regular room at GC hotel is about the same as FOx Hollow but we stayed at the GC Hotel because it was closer to WM.

How is it that Bridal Suite at the Inn at Fox Hollow is less than a regular suite there? Their regular suite comes up as $299

i think our Uniondale suite is around $250ish or so. But since our reception ends at 5:30, we'll have some afterparting either in the room or at the hotel bar with anyone thats wants to keep partying!!!
(as long as im not too tired... ill probably be so wired!) I think wingate inns suite was $269 or so.

For those of you whose guests stayed at Holiday Inn on Old Country Road, how was their experience?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I have a question I dont remember if I read this here but for you girls in the garden room and having a vieneese hour will they do it on the terrace instead of on the dance floor. I am worried that it willt ake up too much room and time.
Our reception is in the Garden room and with it comes the Library room which is adjacent to the Garden room. I would think that maybe the vieneese hour might be set-up in there?
Hotels - I did a little research on this. I heard mixed reveiws on the Holiday inn located next door to Chateau Briand. So I did not consider them.
I visited Red Roof inn. Clean and reasonable but to generic.
Wingate Inn. Very nice, clean, I requested to see a few of the rooms and they were very nice about it. The price is moderate.
I thought some of the other hotels were nice too but not worth the money. JMO. I didn't want to kill my out of town guests with overpriced hotels.

i was also told they don't block rooms at Red roof. Their low price will stay the same. so guests can still book there if they want.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
We are having our wedding on Saturday 1-6, so we decided to for those who are up to it - to continue the party at the Garden City Hotel. So we decided to stay there - we booked a superior king for $255. A friend of mine who stayed at the hotel several times said the only real difference between the bridal suite and the room is - a bottle of champagne, rose petals, chocolate covered strawberries and a dress bag. My MOH said she will have someone do that for us! Saved me $300! Isn't she the best!

Absolutley. Not to disrespect those that are booking a bridal suite but for the extra money that you are charged I don't think it is worth it. By the time you get there it will be really late. I would rather put the extra money to an excursion on the HM :)

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
We are also wondering where we are sleeping the night we get married and also how to get there since we are not having limos.I just got something in the mail for Windgate. Bridal suites were $350 for champagne, fresh flowers, chocolate, late check in till 2:00 pm, and free breakfast.
Junior Suite was the same thing except like missing one thing (I forgot what it was). That was $299.00. The one thing less wasn't a big deal.
They also have blocked rooms at discount and free breakfast for guests.
I wanted to stay there, but mom says it's too modern. Whatever that means. We're still in the process of looking.
If anyone else finds anything great, let us know. Garden City regular room might not be a bad idea.
