Hi everyone, our wedding is at the manor in July 05. We have a ton of guests coming from MA and are wondering where others are putting up their guests and what kind of transportation you are providing.

Thanks much!!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi All,

New to this site and thread. I have just booked WM for Oct. 2, 2005. I am not a bit concerned with the changes between FH and WM. Only because, I have been through hell and back with another hall. I started to look in Westchester (@10 halls or so). I booked with VIP and only to later know the owners were being indicted for tax evasion. I had left a 20% deposit (didn't know that was out of the norm) and thanks god sis (MOH) is an attorney we were able to void the contract and get the deposit back. We decided to try some halls in LI and looked at another 4 or 5 and decided on WM. WM had beautiful grounds and the dates I was concerned were booking quickly. I just wondered which BM to have next. So don't worry ladies there are worst things that can happen. And they quoted us a great price and Jerry Scotto was there and he was very pleasant & attentive.

Ciao, for now.....

YES IM FREAKIN!!! Im worried b/c the first thing went wrong so far for me- my BM dresses are Bill Levkoff and the jr dresses the company they use went out of business so one of the dresses the young girl is inbetween sizes so they have to do major alterations and lots of $$$$ if they dont get another company to pick up thier business- Bill levkoff and now this with Scotto Bro stuff is making me really nervous!!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Did you see someone else posted about the Scotto brothers being sued?

I'm not feeling comfortable with all this publicity they are getting. I LOVE the Westbury Manor and some people are making me feel like they're not a stable company.

I don't like hearing bad things about our place. It's a gorgeous place and I am counting down the days so I can get married there.

Don't worry too much about your BM. After they book your wedding you don't really ever see them again. Other people take over. BM's don't deal with the menu's or setup or any of that stuff.

Anyone who is nervous, call them. I did and felt much better after FH and I had a long talk with one of the new BM.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I just wanted to let you ladies know that I went into WM tonight to meet with Jerry and he was VERY personable, and took time out of his busy schedule to meet with me (they had crazy parties going on and the place looked soo beautiful with the x-mas decorations).

If anyone has any concerns, please call him and don't worry about it! He seems like he runs a really tight ship there, and personally I feel better knowing that he is there now and things looked like they were running very smoothly.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

We just booked the Westbury Manor for march 26, 2006! I fell in love with the place as soon as I seen it. And I thought the Peacocks were sooo cute!

I am so glad I found this thread!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Do any winter brides (or inclement weather brides) know what the protocol is with indoor pictures at the Westbury Manor?

Can you take pictures anywhere? Do they have a room set up like at Foxhollow?

How early can you get there for a Saturday evening reception?

THANKS!

They have a studio for taking pictures upstairs. Most of our pictures were there.

thanks so much for the info!!!!

Now I want to go by there and check it out - you'd think they'd mention that when I met with them!

Oh well - glad to know that they have it.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Erica- I remember seeing the photo room- it is pretty cool. It is upstairs, sort of above the library. It is on a third floor, they sort of coverted an old room into a 'photo' room. When I was there, they said they are still adding some new pieces to it, but it is supposed to look antique from the time period the manor was lived in. I thought it was pretty neat too! I love having my wedding at a place with some real history to it!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

It does have an antiquey feel to it. It has a photo section and a section where your bridal party/family can mingle and eat/drink while taking pics. It has a couch, pictures, a backdrop. Mostly in gold and maroon tones, turned out nice in the pics.
