Thanks for the welcomes! Let me ask my first question: What did you do, or plan to do, for ceremony music (if you have your ceremony at WM)? TIA! :)

Here are some of the pictures I took when I went to WM last weekend...I hope they aren't too small to see!The top two are the restaurant area, which we are using for our CH. The third one is the garden room and the last one is the library. :)

Yay! I'm so happy we have a thread! I am in the Manor room with cocktail hour outside (CROSSED FINGERS IT WILL BE NICE OUT!!!!!!!!) At this point I dont know who my banquet manager is and havent made any cake pickings. I really love the place though. My parents actually got married there too!! (that was about 5 re-decorations ago!)

I went to look at the Wingate in Garden City, the Hilton Garden Inn in Westbury and the LI Marriott in Uniondale. The Wingate gives you the most for your money ($129 a night quoted to me, continental breakfast included, a 900 square foot bridal suite that they decorate with rosepetals, champagne and chocolates) Apparently if you book 15 rooms you get $100 off the bridal suite - and they had lots of different types of rooms. Had a bar, small workout area with hot tub, and a restaurant next door. They have a shuttle service but I think the WM might be too far. I think the shuttle only goes 3 miles. They also have some sort of professional relationship with Fortunoffs, so if you register with Fortunoffs you get some sort of discount.
the Hilton is one year old. It was the prettiest one in my opinion. They offer $139 a night for a standard room and $159 for a junior suite (king size bed with pull out couch). They have a breakfast, but your guests have to pay for it, they have a gym with indoor pool. they dont have a bridal suite. They have a bar but they dont have their liquor license yet and couldnt guarantee that they'd have it in time for my wedding (12/3/05).
the LI Marriott is huge. Has a sports bar, coffee shop, restaurants, etc. Has a gym with HUGE indoor pool. Rooms were $139 a night. The bridal suites were already booked when I called them, so I dont know what they looked like.
All three are pretty close to Westbury Manor. I think if you want a big hotel, go with the Marriott - they have all of the amenitites of a big place. If you want a really lovely, smaller place, then maybe the Hilton - the lobby is pretty. If you want a nice place that gives you a lot for your money, go with the wingate.
I still haven't booked a place yet but I think I'll go with the wingate. I really liked the Hilton but to be honest, the people on the phone in the sales office (Beverly and Gail) were really rude and aggressive, so I dont think I want to give them my business.
Hope the info helps!

We used the Wingate Inn. I looked everywhere and they gave us the best deal. Very nice rooms, breakfast included and Jessica helped arrange three shuttles for our guests to and from the Westbury Manor. We also had after-hours at the hotel bar which they kept open very, very, late for us. As well as distributed our hotel bags for us. The customer service there is excellent.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I was also starting to look into the hotels in the area.My fiance thought that Holiday in in Westbury would be the best bet, but they have been putting me off with a price quote since November. (I can't stand that). I liked the Wingate. I wasn't sure if the 'hangingout after the wedding atmosphere' was the best.
We have an early wedding and was looking forward to going back to a hotel with a bar feel. The Wingate has a fully stocked 'make-shift bar' and some tables. My Fiance didn't care for it. But they were very professional and the rooms were very clear.
(Moehick)Can you tell me more about how you arranged 3 shuttles?
Thanks.

My fh and I also booked the wingate for out guests. The people were so friendly and helpful. Wingate had the best deal of all the hotels we looked at. The shuttles are included in the price of the rooms. We requested that since his whole family is from NJ. If you speak to Jessica she can explain it all.

We called a couple of different Taxi companies and arranged van pick ups with the one with the best price. They drove to the church...from church to reception...than back to hotel. Don't remember company...DH handled this.
