They are both avoiding the questions. Its really starting to get juicy now with the comments.

I have to disagree...Bush is sounding even more unintelligent then I ever thought he could be. If that is possible!

Re: Who is watching the debates?
And how many times did Bush mention that Poland backs him? Since when does Poland have a lot of influence in the world? Maybe when it is the ONLY European country where popular public opinion backs Bush. How sad

i couldnt agree more.... i think bush is clearly 'winning' right now. Kerry is trying too hard to 'sell' himself, and if i hear one more time.....'when i fought in the war' i might gag....This will be my first year voting.... Oprah will be proud

FH says the same....he's upset by it, cuz although he can't stand either, he chooses Bush out of the 2, but says hes a baffling moron tonight.

Re: Who is watching the debates?
Well the debate is over. I think its safe to say that nobody necessarily 'won the debate'.
But with Bush ahead by 8 points in the polls before this started... Kerry had nothing to lose and Bush had nothing to gain and everything to lose.
I think Bush did a good job at holding his ground and I think the polls will reflect that.

I think Kerry had a strong voice and was commanding tonight...Bush seemed to falter and stumble on his own words a lot.

Bush stumbles and falters on his speech all the time. Thats no surprise. His fumbling while he talks will not sway a voter.
But IMO Bush did not stumble when he said 'You may not have liked the decisions I made in the past... but at least with me as President you will always know where I stand.'
I think that was the most commanding point of the night... whether he stumbled in saying it or not.

I guess it is just the fact of whether or not you believe what he stands for is right.

exactly, he wont be winning any public speaking awards anytime soon, but at least u know what you get with him, his beliefs are his beliefs, not what the public wants them to be at that time next week should be good!

Re: Who is watching the debates?
My favorite was when Bush said 'we were invaded and went into Iraq'... um, huh?
and then he was like, 'um I know that Osama invaded...'
what a freaken dolt.
I would have respect for Bush if he would at least admit that maybe things in Iraq aren't as Peachy as he makes them seem...

Thats exactly why Slick-Willy Clinton got re-elected for a 2nd term. Whether you agreed with Clinton or not... you knew where he stood. I see Kerry in a very similar position where Gore was eight years ago. I think people are just going to be too uncertain of what the future would bring... and the undecided voters will end up picking the incumbent.
