My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
I am extremely upset. I was hysterical for hours. My Mom, Dad, and FH all say don't worry because IM prettier blah blah blah but they have to say those things. MY MOH and BP is furious with her and I just don't know what to feel anymore.I feel like a wedding dress isn't just a dress! I feel like it is sacred and a reflection of who I am as a person. Unique different. IM sad girls IM thinking about RUSH ordering a new dress but then I will loose the $1,200 I already paid

When is your friend getting married? Did she know the dress you picked?

yeah unless it was custom designed, MANY girls will have the same dress. We do think of it as 'OUR' dress but so do tons of other girls.
Maybe add something different to it.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
If your wedding is first, I wouldn't worry about it. She will look like a fool and seems like everyone already knows she did this, so don't worry about it if hers is first. Your hair, jewelry, shoes and other accessories will be different so don't worry. I would be mad, but I wouldn't let it ruin my wedding. GL.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
If my wedding was FIRST and I was copied I wouldnt care...
If my wedding was 2nd and I was copied I'd be pissed....
If my wedding was 2nd and it was a coincidence I wouldnt be mad at her just annoyed and I'd get a new dress (even if I lost $$ I'd wanna be uinique)
JUST sharing what I'd do..

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
We need more info. Did you buy it first and she saw it then went out and bought it?? Is her wedding first?Honestly I would be furious. Especially, if we all have mutual friends who will be at both weddings. I know some girls said a lot of us on this site have the same dresses but our families and friends dont know eachother and wont be at our weddings. If she bought it after she saw yours thats even worse. Maybe you can alter yours to change the neckline or something if she wont change it.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
Yeah, i'm just wondering if you guys are in the same circle. I mean, you said that you're friends, but are you having most of the same people at end the weddings?? If so, then yeah, that's pretty annoying. But if not, then don't worry too much about it. Reality is that most people WILL have the same dress, it's just not common to KNOW those other 'dress twins'.
My bestfriend is getting married 2 months before me. We have VERY similar tastes in our clothing style so i was really nervous about getting the same dress (since we're already getting married in the same church and are having our receptions at the same hall). So i specifically called her before I went shopping to make SURE i don't even try on the one she got. But even if we did have the same dress, it wouldn't really matter. We have such different body types. The same dress can look completely different depending on who's wearing it.
Was this just a coinsidense??? Maybe your friend had no idea and just happened to fall in love with the same one.

im curious, did she see your dress before she bought hers or was this a coincidence?

I see that your wedding is in 2009. There may be a possibility you can change it! I've seen other brides change their dresses without penalty...

hey ..as long as your wedding is first I wouldn't care about it.... No one will be impressed with the dress the second time around and everyone will be whispering about how you just wore in 12 weeks ago....everyone will think shes an a$$!!!

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
I just typed a long explination and It got erased.A few weeks ago I had showed her a picture of my gown from a website.
2 days ago she shows up with the same gown. I asked her how she didn't know that it was my dress? She claimed she didn't remember.
I asked her where she purchased t from she told me oh I don't know somehwere online.
Once she told me the price I knew exactly what website b/c no one really sells this gown online.
I said it was blah.com she goes how do you know? I said because that is the website I showed you my dress. SHe still claims it was a mistake.
I know their are always gonna be dress twins but usually dress twins aren't friends/soon-to-be family and having alot of the same guests. 12 weeks apart.
