Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

Did anyone else get their itinerary yet -- like what they get when they get there. anyone else getting leid?? LOL.

Another question in regard to interisland flights. How long before the flight do you think we need to arrive there?

I haven't looked at my itinerary in a while, but I think we get a bottle of champagne at both hotels and leis!

As for interisland flights, I think the hotel should know when we should leave for them, right? I'll probably ask the front desk the day of the flight to see what they think. I'd say maybe an hour or so before?

I got my itinerary. I get leis also - I think everyone does! I was watching a show on the Travel Channel called Travel Cafe - it was a half hour show on food in FP. Anyway they said that when you get to Bora Bora...the lei you get lets the boats know which hotel you are going to. So they see your lei and know where to take you! Sounds cool! The show was good - I want to try poisson cru! Anyone else? That's the dish of the FP!

I get breakfast included at Le Taha'a that we don't have to pay for. It's an amenity thru my TA. We get champagne too at all or some hotels? I forget. I'll check.

Not sure about how much time you need for interisland flights. My TA listed out what times to get picked up for the transfers...I'll look at it tonight.

But what if you end up loving it and want to eat it every day???

I'll try it mid-trip. I have a stomach of steel!

Do any of you plan to go to Bloody Mary's? If you do someone has to do me a favor and ask them for me if they are closed in December? I heard they close that entire month. I will be there then
I will be sad if I miss it. I arrive in Bora Bora on the last day of November....so maybe I can go my first night there!
Anyway on the show I saw - the chef at Bloody Mary's showed how he makes his most famous dish. That too looked delicious - I'd love to try it. If you like calamari - it was calamari pounded and flattened so it was like a cutlet. I think they called it a clamari steak - it was breaded and had a butter, caper, garlic sauce poured on top. Looked so good.

Yes, Bloody Mary's is closed during the month of December.
Poisson Cru is fantastic! It is a bit like ceviche or tar tar so if you will eat that, you will be OK! Definitely don't wait until the last night to try it. You will regret it! I had it on Moorea at Chez Capo and it was so good!

everything at Bloody Mary's sounds good, I cannot wait to go there.

I have another question for you ladies, are any of you planning on getting any shots before you go? I'm kind of paranoid that it is a different country and all, do you think we should get like a hepatitis shot or something like that?

114 days until i get leid!

Thanks - unfortunately their site isn't very helpful. The 'Contact Us' page is empty!!! I guess I will email my hotel before I go to see if they know if they are open on that last night of Nov. and if so to make me reservations.

I hadn't even thought of shots b/c I read you don't need them. I guess I'll ask my doctor what he thinks...can't hurt to ask.
