thanks angnick!
We are thinking of doing the Sapphire villa at the Thalasso. We are members of the Ambassador Club and they say they give an upgrade guarantee. So we were hoping to maybe go from Sapphire to Diamond! Thanks so much for the info!![]()

If u do get an emerald bungalow- our room number was 238, just to let you know.. if looking at the resort, from the plane, we were on the left hand side of the resort.. u can see it on the website

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Girls I am back from PARADISE.....was pissed to be landing today in this icey snowy mess! Not so nice to come home from paradise to this!Just wanted to jump on quick to say hello....
We loved every minute of the honeymoon! Already trying to figure out how we can afford to go back and when
We always referred to it as the trip of a lifetime but realized when we were there it can't be b/c we just have to go back someday!!!
If you're in a garden bung. with pool at Moorea...ask for room 228 or 229. Email ahead to request it. We didn't but when they checked us in told us our room was one of the 2 with the biggest plunge pools....I thought they may just be saying that so i peaked over the other walls and indeed ours was twice the size of the other pools! We LOVED this room!!! Not sure if this is new with the recent upgrades there but we just loved having the plunge pool there. The OWB's there are so not worth it in my opinion. Beach bungalows looked great too but in our opinion we were happier with our garden pool bugalow!
I will write a very detailed review ASAP...we also took a ton of pics so I will post a few as soon as I can.....
Angnick is right about Thalsso....an absolute dream come true. The most amazing place we could ever imagine staying...it's to die for! We need to go back....5 nights there was just not enough! Service there was top notch...just a really magical place! Best views of Mt. Otenmu from there. We were in an Emerald and we got the bungalow I had requested thru emailing the resort....#206. Check out the map and you will see why I requested it....it's on the side where there are no hotels next to it (the other side had Le Meridian right next to it)...it looks out to nothing but clear blue waters...and it's the only Emerald that is placed directly next to a Diamond!!! We sort of had no neighbors to either side of us...to our left the bung. was more behind us than next to us and to our direct right was a work bungalow (ice machine and maid carts)...so it was very private for an Emerald. We'd actually request this room again if we went back...it was perfect!
Le Taha'a was our final stop which was hard b/c nothing could top the Thalasso! We don't recommend it and wouldn't go back. It was fine and it didn't ruin our trip or anything...the service is just not good for the prices you pay to stay there. The service at Thalasso blew away the service at Le Taha'a. It was definitely nice and very pretty but buggy as anything...even saw a RAT (yes a rat) at dinner! Like I said the Thalsso was just hard to beat. We may have liked it better if we went there before going to the Thalasso...or if we came from another resort on Bora Bora...the brand newness of Thalsso was just hard to beat!
Oh and the craziest part of my honeymoon was my DH passing out...yes he fainted on me..in the shower at Le Taha'a. I can joke about it now but it was actually the scariest thing that's ever happened to me. I seriously thought he was having a heart attack and dying on me on the last night of our honeymoon. I luckily caught him in my arms as he went down...I went down too b/c he's not light. I was so hysterical and screaming his name and screaming for help...I finally started to slap his face a little and that's when he came to. He was probably out for a good 30 seconds but it actually felt like a lifetime. He eyes were rolling in the back of his head and all I saw were the whites of his eyes. I was so scared! He had just gotten out of the very hot bath for 30 minutes...he loved the big bathtubs in all our rooms and took a bath almost everyday...he said it felt great on his skin after being in the sun all day. He had a beer in there and he thinks just from the very hot water and beer and getting up so quick it got to him. Luckily he warned me and mummbled 'I don't feel good' when he got in the shower so I knew something was wrong. Then he just stopped speaking and went to lean on the wall and went down. UGH! So awful...I was crying and shaking so bad. Now we sort of joke about it and he keeps saying I saved his life b/c if his head hit this slate tile floor he could have really hurt himself. And the best part is we had music playing and we realized when he came to The Fray's 'How to Save a Life' was playing!!!
OK going to sign off now.....will get some pics up by Monday - I promise!!!
HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY to all my fellow Irish girls!!!

K and E, welcome back! Can't wait to read your review and see pictures. Please give lots of recommendations!Man...you are making me think I should have booked Thalasso instead of St. Regis. I was originally planning to do Thalasso in Bora Bora but thought St. Regis may be better. Maybe it was the wrong choice.

However, I was really bummed out that we didn't squeeze in Le Ta'haa. Maybe I shouldn't be so disappointed after all.
I guess you really can't go wrong with the FP.

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Le Ta'haa was always considered the best resort in FP (also was most expensive). My friend stayed there and said Le Ta'haa was significantly better than Bora Bora Nui. (She went about 1.5 yrs ago, before Thalasso Bora Bora and St. Regis opened. Nui was supposed to be the best Bora Bora hotel at the time she went.) Le Ta'haa is secluded and very private.I think the boards and reviews are a bit dated since Thalasso and St. Regis just opened in 2006. I've only heard amazing reviews about Thalasso. I haven't heard much about St. Regis but the travel agents all told me to upgrade to St. Regis if possible.
Honestly I think you cannot go wrong in FP paradise. How much better one island is to the next is relative bc I am thinking all the islands are fabulous. Service will vary depending on the star quality of the hotel you stay at.

Hi girls...sorry haven't been on these boards in a while. So busy trying to get back into the swing of the real world!
Bridex100......no I am sure St. Regis is AMAZING! I'm sure it blows away Thalasso! If we could have afforded it we definitely would have went there over Thalasso. It's just SOOO expensive...it wasn't even an option for us. You will have an amazing time there. Met people at Thalasso who went over to St. Regis for dinner and they said everything was gorgeous there. So do not worry!!!
Still working on trip review...will try to get some pics up for you girls tonight!
