Ok on moorea we ate at

breakfast/lunch - we went to a patisserie- ahhh i cant remember the name of it, but if leaving the pearl, u would make a right out of the resort and it is literally 20 steps to the patisserie. we had crepes for breakfast and lunch- and have hte ice cream it is delicious there. and VERY cheap.

We also ate dinner at the Pearl once or twice, i cant remember and it was delicious.. The bar food is good for lunch- the french fries, salads and burgers.. yum!

On Bora Bora, the only time we left the restaurant for dinner was to go to Bloddy Mary's. Highly recommend it- DELICIOUS.

I think the patisserie you're talking about Angela is Carmeline's! Great ice cream!

My other recommendation for dinners on Moorea are Le Mahagony and Te Hono Iti. Le Mahagony was by far our favorite dinner on Moorea...really great food - nice atmosphere too. We didn't love Alfredo's at all - was our least favorite meal.
Te Hono Iti is right on the water - very romantic place. A million stingrays swim up to the deck of the restaurant and you can feed them.
We ate at the Moorea Pearl once and almost vomited - we found the food to be almost inedible there! Breakfast there every day was delish but dinner was gross and lunch just ok.
Rent a bike and ride to the Club Bali Hai for lunch at the Blue Pineapple - great food and dirt cheap! It's to the right when you leave the Pearl.

On Bora Bora - Villa Mahana I can't say enough was the best meal of my life.
We also loved Bloody Mary's but I heard Top Dive and Kaina Hut are great too!

Enjoy!!!

She just means the FOOD at Moorea Pearl. I said I was surprised that you liked the food there so much b/c DH and I thought it was not even edible. Breakfast buffet was great but lunch and dinner we had very bad experiences...so she was just referring to the food - not the resort itself! Loved the resort - but go out for your meals. There are a ton of amazing restaurants in the area...it's silly to waste them and just eat at the hotel! That's just in my opinion of course...Angnick and Camacho both seemed to enjoy their meals at the Pearl.

By the way girls...I am finally finished with my long and annoying HM review. I was just about to post it until I realized I want to copy in a million pics to go with it - which we all know you have to do as you paste in your review. So it will take way too long to do right now - I'm gonna start it first thing tomorrow morning when I get to work!!!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

girls...I have a HUGE GIGANTIC ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE.....my very long and very detailed Honeymoon review is up on the Bride's Review Board...it literally took me ALL day to do! I spent several hours doing it b/c you have to copy in by paragraph from Word so you can copy pics in along the way...very long process!!! WOW...so glad to finally have it up! It's so long though - people are going to think I'm nuts!

Now get reading - haha - enjoy!!!

Click me for Keri's Tahitian HM Review!

UGH - girls apparently no one can see my pictures in my review. I pasted them in from Kodak Gallery - I can see them all fine but I don't think anyone else can.

Luckily once I typed everything into LIW - I copied and pasted that into a word doc in case something got messed up and it didn't post. So I may be able to use that to fix the problem...but first I have to upload my HM pics to Shutterfly or Snapfish or somewhere that will work with LIW...so you can read the review now - I'll let you know when to check back for pics. I am so bummed no one can see them - it took me all morning to do!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

kande, If you don't mind... what type of massage did you get at Thalasso and about how much did it cost? That's awesome that they let you use the spa facilities all day and I'm going to have to try to convince FH to get one as well just so that he can use the facilities with me.

I don't even remember honestly - I think it was a back and neck massage and was about 50 minutes maybe...??? They had a ton to choose from...I am not one to want to blow $200 and up at a spa so I just picked the least expensive one. It was probably around $120 I think...I'm not even sure. I don't really remember...sorry!
But definitely convince DH to get something...I was upset mine didn't b/c it would have been fun to have him use the facilities with me. They had a few couples things that sounded great - maybe you could do that!

Enjoy!!!

It's pretty casual. Since it was my honeymoon I always wanted to be in something cute so I wore a lot of sundresses or a cute skirt and top. A few nights it was just too hot so I kept it simple in just a skirt and very casual ribbed tank top. So anything goes.
As for DH he wore shorts every night to dinner with flip flops and a collared golf shirt - like a polo or something. He even wore a t-shirt a few nights...it's very casual.
The only place he would have needed pants was at our last resort - Le Taha'a. Nowhere else ever said only pants in the restaurant.

ENJOY!

It's very casual! DH wore shorts almost every night with sandals and I wore casual skirts, capris, dresses, etc. I brought some fancy things that I didn't even wear.

You can - yes.
I was in a sundress and DH was in shorts and a collared golf shirt. I definitely saved my nicest dress for there but I saw people in very casual outfits there.
