Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

Yes it is only on Wednesday. If you will be in Bora Bora definitely go. We saw the show at the Moorea Pearl and it was nothing compared to the show at Hotel Bora Bora. The food was much better too.

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

im back from tahiti!! we had the best honeymoon hands down! weather was perfect!

the money was so well worth it! we did tahiti, day trip to moorea, bora bora and le tahaa!

i will certainly write a review asap! we did lots of fun excursions.
i just want to say that anyone thinking of booking le ta haa- DEFINITELY DO IT!

We loved le ta haa. we highly reccomend it!

i would have been so disappointed had we cancelled le tahaa. i just want to remind everyone that everyone needs to go out there and experience things for themselves. just b/c some people have negative things to say, doesnt mean you'll have the same experience. - that goes across the board.- vendors, reception halls, etc.

cant wait to write more!!! glad to help!!!

Hi...welcome home! So glad you had such a great time....can't wait for your review and pictures!!!

Glad you enjoyed Le Taha'a so much! I knew you would b/c you weren't at Thalasso right??? I just think anyone going from St. Regis or Thalasso to Le Taha'a - it is like taking a huge step down. I'd recommend either skipping Le Taha'a all together if you are staying at St. Regis or Thalasso OR just making sure you save Bora Bora for last so you don't feel like you're taking such a huge step down....that's all.
Le Taha'a is just REALLY expensive...that was my big issue with the place. Didn't feel it was worth $1200 a night and $20 for 3 scoops of ice cream at lunch. Pretty place but service and room at Thalasso blew it away and we went from Thalasso to Le Taha'a so it was just a bit of a let down. Other way around is better....they say to save the best for last.

OK just wanted to add my 2 cents in for all future brides looking to book....if you are at a brand new hotel in Bora Bora - save it for last. Do Tahaa before Bora Bora!

I just got back from my honemoon.

We got last minute reservations to Villa Mahana bc someone had cancelled.

When I first got to Villa Mahana, I wasn't very impressed with the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. I saw 2 geckos on the wall and didn't care too much for the art style.

The food was AMAZING! I had the shrimp/lobster risotto and I can honestly say that it was the absolute best risotto I had ever had in my life. Villa Mahana was by far our favorite restaurant from our trip and also ranks in the top of my list for restaurants in my life.

I wholeheartedly recommend Villa Mahana.

I MUST BOOK VILLA MAHANA B/C OF THE RISOTTO IM A RISOTTO LOVER LOL

DOES ANYONE HAVE THE EMAIL TO MAKE RESERVATIONS?

i hear great things about Thalasso but i also hear that is very contemporary. Some people might not like contemporary. its all a matter of taste.
With all the hype about it, it made me feel that i needed to cancel Le tahaa and go to Thalasso, and im glad we didnt. i dont feel like i missed out on anything...
i mean everyone has something to say. My advice is to not take info on these boards so serious . i dont think Le Tahaa is a huge step down on any scale. and as far as service, it was impeccable! everyone smiled, greeted us, helped us, whatever we wanted we got. i almost felt unworthy till i reminded myself how much we were paying..lol!

and i noticed the more remote of an island you are on in Tahiti, the more expensive things get. we already knew tahiti would be expensive going into the trip.

these boards are so helpful yet as it got closer to the hm, i stopped caring about what i had to do, needed to see, had to eat etc. i wanted to experience Tahiti for myself with just a few helpful mental notes in the back of my mind.

that's my advice!
