LOS ANGELES — Police are investigating a report by 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul that a man assaulted her at a private party over the weekend.

On Tuesday, Abdul filed a report at the Hollywood station claiming she had been a victim of battery about 1 a.m. Sunday, police Lt. Paul Vernon said Thursday.

'According to Abdul, the man at the party argued with her, grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall,' Vernon said. 'She said she had sustained a concussion and spinal injuries.'

Abdul provided police with the name of the man, but Vernon withheld it pending further investigation. The man had not been charged, Vernon said.

Abdul's publicist Michelle Bega declined to comment. The incident was first reported by Us Weekly.

Eminem Offers Few Words About Divorce

Eminem, whose finesse with words rocketed him to hip-hop superstardom, offered only a few Thursday in response to comments made on a radio show by his estranged wife, Kim, about their failing second marriage.

One day after Eminem filed divorce papers, and 83 days after they remarried, Kim Mathers called a Detroit-area morning show to tell her side of the story.

'He's having problems with, you know, his problem that he had,' she said, an apparent reference to the sleep-medication dependency for which Eminem was hospitalized last summer. 'I was hoping we could get counseling and work it out, you know? ...

'Right after he came home from his rehab, we started to have a few problems, and I thought it was going to be in our best interest to delay the wedding,' said Mathers, who was remarried Jan. 14 to her high school sweetheart.

'But he really pushed it and I thought it was really going to be something that worked this time,' she said.

Eminem, however, has not spoken with her in about six weeks, she said, and surprised her by having her served with divorce papers.

'I don't really necessarily want to get divorced,' said Mathers, whose first marriage to Eminem lasted from 1999 to 2001. 'I was hoping he was going to come home and say, `I got us a counselor, let's go.' But you know it didn't work out that way. I got an attorney at the door instead.'

In a statement released Thursday afternoon through his publicist, Eminem said: 'The details surrounding both my marriage and subsequent filing for divorce are private, and I had hoped to keep them that way for the sake of my family. However, a few of Kim's statements in a radio interview this morning need to be addressed.

'First, her allegations regarding my status post-rehab are both untrue and unfortunate. Second, she was aware that I was filing for divorce. We both tried to give our marriage another chance and quickly realized that a wedding doesn't fix the underlying problems.'

The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, remarried Kimberley Anne Scott a month after the couple announced they had reconciled and were getting back together. The pair grew up in the suburbs along Eight Mile Road, Detroit's northern border.

We haven't been following Idol this season, but we usually love our big divas. However, it seems that just-booted Mandisa is this generation's Donna Summer, unappreciative of her core audience.

Just hours after being eliminated, MANdisa sat down with The Advocate and gave an illuminating interview about her thoughts on faggotry and those people that were born like Clay Aiken, the gays.

Here are some highlights:


The Advocate: There's been controversy about your comments on the Idol Web site and your appreciation for antigay writer and lecturer Beth Moore. Some took it as an endorsement of the 'ex-gay' movement. What do you say to people who were turned off by that?

Mandisa: I just heard about that a couple of days ago. It broke my heart. I live my life by the value system that you treat others the way you want to be treated. I let love be my guide. I absolutely hate no one. When I heard that I was really upset.

The Advocate: Is there a conflict between being religious and being gay?

Mandisa: I know my value system, based on that, that on the word [of the Bible], that it does speak of that. I do know I have no place to judge anybody. I know that at the end of time we all face the judge and his name is not going to be Mandisa, so I cannot place any judgment on anyone.

The Advocate: Would you be comfortable performing or singing at a gay event?

Mandisa: I would not, no.

The Advocate: Would it conflict with your religious beliefs?

Mandisa: Based on what I believe, I'm not an advocate for [being gay], so it's nothing I would take part in.

The R&B singer and the rapper confirm to TEEN PEOPLE that they are no longer a couple

After dating for nearly a year, it's the end of the road for Ciara and Bow Wow, two of the most successful artists in R&B and hip hop. 'Ciara and I have parted ways,' Bow Wow tells TEEN PEOPLE. 'I wish her all the best.'

Miss Info, a DJ on New York City's Hot 97, first reported that Ciara, 20, and Bow Wow, 19, broke up after he was spotted with another girl in Los Angeles last weekend. But a rep for Ciara tells TEEN PEOPLE, 'Ciara and Bow Wow have been broken up for a while, but their parting was amicable.'

The Atlanta-based couple worked together on the song 'Like You,' which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They would walk the occasional red carpet together with Ciara sporting a large diamond ring on her left hand's ringfinger. The bauble raised eyebrows, but when TEEN PEOPLE asked Bow Wow about its significance in September he said, 'It's just a little gift, that's all. Nothing major.'

During the same interview with TEEN PEOPLE, Bow Wow made it clear that their relationship was so serious that even their families had become close. 'My mother is very supportive of everything I do. She loves Ci [his pet name for Ciara] and Ci loves my mother, so it's a whole other connection,' he said. 'I never had that father connection until now. So me and Ci's father, we bond a lot. I talk to him on a daily basis.'

Ciara, on the other hand, tended to keep quiet about the relationship. 'When it comes to that part of my life I am a very private person,' she told TEEN PEOPLE last year. 'When you have a chance to talk about the business and how good it's going, I definitely take advantage of that... But when it gets deeper and deeper to the personal, that's when I kinda go down a little bit.'

I was listening to the radio this morning and tuned in mid-discussion to the morning DJs at my favorite station talking about Katie Homes' 'pregnancy'. Apparently they had talked to a reporter from The Insider that morning and had come to the conclusion that Katie was really pregnant by Chris Klein before she and Tom got together, but that Tom said that he was OK with raising the baby as his if she would play wife to him. They also concluded that she has already had the baby (evidenced by the loss of pregnancy weight around her face and ankles recently, and the fact that not many fathers would be as far away from a ready-to-pop mother as Tom is from Katie), and that she is wearing a prosthetic belly in order to both promote Tom's new movie best and to make the timeline right so that it looks like it really is Tom's and not Chris' (evidenced by the ever changing size/shape of Katie's belly).

I know there have been discussions around here about Katie's belly being fake and even if she was ever pregnant at all, but I never remember hearing the Chris Klein theory.

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Pamela Anderson spent the night cosying up to Usher after getting her people to set up a meeting.

The former 'Baywatch' actress was so desperate to meet the handsome singer she got her staff to arrange the get-together during a trip to Atlanta.

Pammy and Usher eventually teamed up for a magazine launch and the 'Confessions' star was said to be totally captivated by the beautiful blonde.

A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: 'Usher seemed mesmerised. They were together all night and doing some serious flirting. By the end, Pammy was a little worse for wear from all the champagne.'

The 38-year-old has recently been spotted locking lips with music stars Ray-J and Ne-Yo and also kissed rapper Kanye West in his music video.

APPLE MARTIN has a baby brother, ET confirmed today. Superstar parents GWYNETH PALTROW and CHRIS MARTIN welcomed their second child over the weekend.

After months of speculation about her blossoming figure, Gwyneth revealed her pregnancy in January at a Screen Actors Guild showing of 'Proof' in Beverly Hills.

During an interview session following the screening, LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS announced Paltrow as a 'pregnant woman,' then asked her how far along she was. A smiling Gwyneth replied, 'Far enough along to feel very cumbersome.'

When an audience member asked how she got her hair so shiny, the Oscar winner answered, 'It must be the prenatal vitamins ... I've been taking them for a few years.'

This is the second child for Gwyneth and her COLDPLAY hubby. Apple turns 2 years old in May.
