Though she spent $5,000 on pink and yellow clothes and told shop assistants she was buying for 'my baby,' she still doesn't look pregnant, she's continuing to work and friends are starting to wonder what's up! Now one friend reveals that J.Lo, 36, and Marc Anthony, 37, may be expecting a baby, just not the traditional way.

'They may adopt!' a friend of Lopez tells Star. The actress has reportedly dealt with fertility problems in the past and, the friend says, 'she's been trying to get pregnant with Marc's baby for te last year with no luck. The older she gets, the more the deck is stacked against her having her own biological children.'

Fast-forward to Feb. 11, 2006: Jen, now living in a small rented beachfront home in Malibu, Calif., celebrated her 37th birthday by staying indoors with beau Vince Vaughn — venturing out just once 'to walk up and down the beach all by herself,' an eyewitness tells Star.

This year, it seems, she just didn't feel like celebrating. 'She's in a totally different place than she thought she'd be at 37,' says a close friend of Jen. 'She's almost 40, and she has no husband, no baby and no Oscar. I think it's a scary time for her.'

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hell hath no fury like a real estate mogul feeling dissed by a doyenne of gracious living.

Donald Trump erupted in fury at Martha Stewart on Tuesday for her polite suggestion in a weekend interview with Newsweek that her version of Trump's hit show 'The Apprentice' failed because it aired too close to his.

Stewart also said that she was asked to help get rid of Trump by firing him on air.

That was too much for 'The Donald,' whose specialty is doing just that -- firing people on air.

In an open letter to Stewart, Trump declared, 'It's about time you started taking responsibility for your failed version of 'The Apprentice.' Your performance was terrible ... the show lacked mood, temperament and just about everything else a show needs for success. I knew it would fail as soon as I first saw it.'

Ms. Stewart was not amused.

In a statement she declared, 'The letter is so mean-spirited and reckless that I almost can't believe my longtime friend Donald Trump wrote it. I am very proud of the work we did.'

Stewart had said in her Newsweek interview that it was suggested to her that there was room for only one 'Apprentice' program and that she should replace Trump by firing him on air.

It was not immediately clear who wanted Trump fired, but Newsweek said 'Apprentice' producer Mark Burnett confirmed that it was suggested. Burnett, who co-owns 'The Apprentice' with Trump, quickly added: 'Thank God that didn't happen.'

Trump told Newsweek, 'What moron would think you'd fire a guy with the No. 1 show on TV?'

In season four, 'The Apprentice' averaged about 10.7 million viewers a week, down several million from its previous season. Stewart's show averaged 6.6 million viewers through its first four weeks.

Diaz's Feathery Freak Accident?

Was Cameron Diaz 'inches from death' after a recent highway mishap? So says London's Sunday Mirror, which claims the accident-prone actress 'narrowly cheated' the Grim Reaper after a Fabio-esque close encounter with a wayward bird.

The hapless creature is said to have smashed into the windshield of the vehicle Cameron was riding in while on her way to the set of the romantic comedy 'The Holiday,' which she's currently shooting in the English countryside.

'The driver said he had been traveling at around 65mph when he saw a bird flying across from a field at the side of the road,' a source tells the paper. 'They both instinctively ducked, hoping that it would miss them, but it smashed straight into the windscreen on the driver's side. Cameron apparently screamed, 'Oh my God!' and was covered in broken glass.'

The chauffeur reportedly received a few cuts but managed to pull the Range Rover over and comfort the 'badly shaken' actress, who was in the front passenger seat.

'I think they both realized that they'd had a very lucky escape, largely thanks his driving skills,' adds the insider.

When contacted for comment on the supposed bird bashing, Diaz's rep told MSN Entertainment, 'I understand that something like this did happen, but not to Cameron. She's fine.'

And perhaps a little more than fine, if reports of her Valentine's Day gift from beau Justin Timberlake are true. According to the Daily Mirror, the popster, who trekked from L.A. to England last week to cozy up to his longtime love, surprised her with a $1,500 bag from Louis Vuitton (yes, we know that's chump change for Justin, but come on, it's the thought that counts).

'Justin came rushing into Louis Vuitton in Beverly Hills saying he had a plane to catch and snapped up the flash bag,' a Timberlake 'pal' tells the paper (OK, so much for that whole 'thought-that-counts' theory). 'Cameron was so touched as she's been pretty lonely without him.'

But has quality time has been hard to come by for the couple? The London Sun spotted Justin looking 'miserable' while shopping in the city last week, an expression it attributed to the long hours the actress has been working, leaving her little time for snuggle-bunnies.

'Cameron's been arriving back at 2 a.m.,' a mole tells the tab, 'so it's hardly been the romantic Valentine's week Justin was planning.'

Kevin Federline--or as he seems to prefer, 'K-Fed,' the ridiculous nickname he has lately adopted--was spotted hitting on recently single hottie Jessica Simpson at the swanky Los Angeles club Privilege, reports Life & Style Weekly.

Speaking of the name of the club, maybe good ol' K-Fed should remember who it is that provides him with all his life's privileges. Nonetheless, the rapper wannabe and husband of Britney Spears reportedly 'made a beeline' for Jessica, according to an unnamed source, who helpfully added, 'There was definitely some chemistry there.' Interestingly, media representatives for both of them didn't deny the story, but instead insisted the two are just old friends. Yep.

He's paid attention to the gossip. When talking about his upcoming rap album debut, Federline told Newsweek, 'Sure there'll be the initial shock and awe. But they've already said so much s--t about me it can't get worse. 'He hates his children, he treats his wife like dirt, he gets high all day.' If I was that bad, you think anyone, let alone Britney, would put up with it?' We certainly hope not. Privilege does have its price, after all.
