The saying goes “If you have nothing nice to say…” and since Matthew McConaughey is a true southern gentleman he kept his lip shut about costar Sarah Jessica Parker. Usually during press conferences, people rave about the people they have worked with. All that Matty could come up with in “interesting” and “peculiar”…

Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker star as onscreen sweethearts in Failure To Launch, but the actor reportedly couldn’t stand Parker off-screen and found her “peculiar.” The pair were starring in a breezy romantic comedy, but sources on the set say filming was anything but fun. One insider tells Msnbc’s The Scoop website, “Matthew gets along with pretty much everyone, but he basically couldn’t bear Sarah.” The actor recently made an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show and seemed to struggle when asked about the former Sex And The City star. When asked by Winfrey to sum-up working with Parker, the actor eventually came up with, “Great comedic timing.” The actor then added, “Very peculiar, too. Man, she’s a very interesting woman. Yeah.”

FEBRUARY 27--Pity the poor production slave who is tasked to handle the dressing room demands of John Mayer when the guitarist rolls into Arizona for his trio's April 1 appearance at the Tempe Music Festival. The backstage rider for Mayer, who is touring with bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan, includes a variety of items that we have not previously seen requested by other performers. Yes, the affable Mayer wants thinly sliced meat, soy milk, and an organic fruit bowl, according to the rider, an excerpt of which you'll find below.

But he also appears deeply committed to maintaining his oral hygiene and pleasant, toothy smile. Promoters must provide the 28-year-old musician with four 'soft head' toothbrushes, a bottle of Listerine, two small tubes of mint-flavored toothpaste (Sensodyne or Tom's of Maine), and two packages of Altoids breath mints. Mayer also needs four organic lip balms and some Gold Bond powder. And how can you not love a guy who requires a copy of The New York Times and one box of a 'Kids Brand Cereal' (either Cap'n Crunch, Count Chocula, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, or Cinnamin Toast Crunch).

And as for those two tubes of Krazy Glue, don't draw the incorrect conclusion that some illicit huffing is occurring backstage. It's our guess that the young bluesman uses the sticky stuff to somehow mend fingers shredded on his Stratocaster.

Mariah Carey Preps Return to Movie Screen

Although her 2001 movie Glitter failed to produce any gold, Grammy comeback queen Mariah Carey is taking another stab at the screen.

The songbird, 35, is set to star in an independently produced drama titled Tennessee, to be shot in New Mexico and Tennessee this spring, reports Variety.

'I never saw Glitter, but I liked her work in the other film,' says Tennessee (and Monster's Ball) producer Lee Daniels, referring to Carey's 2002 movie WiseGirls.

Daniels also tells the trade paper that he was swayed to cast Carey after watching her video for the Grammy-winning 'The Emancipation of Mimi.'

I have no idea why I am still here, actually. It really is unbelievable.'

And she is convinced she is invincible: 'I think when I do finally go, people will be saying, 'Thank god she's finally dead.''

The actress, 45, has been quietly dating perpetually plagued Brad Renfro, 23.

The recently-rehabed star just completed inpatient treatment at The Ranch, a Malibu rehab center.

According to the new issue of In Touch, Daryl started dating Brad prior to his recent drug arrest and she's sticking with him through this 'challenging' time.

'Daryl visited Brad all the time in rehab,' an insider says.

One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush has petitioned to annul her five-month marriage to Chad Michael Murray, PEOPLE has learned.

In papers released by the Los Angeles Superior Court, the actress cited “fraud” as the grounds for annulling the union. There was no explanation of the alleged fraud.

A fraud claim can be 'difficult to prove,' Hollywood divorce attorney Sorrell Trope told PEOPLE. If a judge denies Bush's annulment request, she can seek a divorce from Murray.

Bush, 23, and Murray, 24, who still costar on the WB show where they first met in 2003, separated in September.

'Sophia went into the marriage believing in the sanctity of marriage,' a friend of the actress told PEOPLE in October, 'and Chad simply did not share that vision.'

Renee Zellweger also famously annulled her five-month marriage to Kenny Chesney in December on grounds of fraud, though she clarified in a statement that ''fraud' is simply legal language and not a reflection of character.'
