Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline are telling friends that they're expecting a second child — less than six months after their first, Sean Preston, was born.

'I'm pregnant!' revealed the 24 year-old pop star to another woman in the spa at Maui's Four Seasons Hotel where Britney, Kevin and their baby son are staying.

But no one's more surprised than Federline, who, sources tell Star, had no idea he was about to become a dad again. In fact, Kevin had only a slight jump on Brit's fellow spa-goer — a source says he only got the news just days before from Brit in New Orleans just before he joined her on Feb. 27 for Mardi Gras.

Brit, 24, the sources tell Star, is near the end of her first trimester and found out in early January that she was expecting. Why wouldn't she share the news with her husband then? Why wouldn't he notice? One reason, sources say, is that the two had been having a particularly rocky time — and Brit was probably afraid Kevin wouldn't want the baby.

As it turned out, sources tell Star, Britney was absolutely right in her concerns. A friend of Federline says that Kevin, 27, wasn't very enthusiastic when he shared the latest baby news. 'Kevin said, 'Britney's pregnant,'' the friend tells Star. 'When I expressed surprise, Kevin said, 'Yeah, it shocked the sh** out of me, too!''

Finding out that she's pregnant again may actually come as a relief to Britney. As previously reported, she was extremely frustrated at her inability to lose the 50 lbs. she put on during her first pregnancy. Plus, she was experiencing moodiness and junk-food cravings. In fact, a friend of Kevin tells Star that the mood swings had become an issue. 'He's totally stressed out,' the friend says. 'When I asked him what was wrong, he went off on Britney, saying: 'One minute she's nice and the next she's cursing me out about nothing.''

On their recent romantic getaway to Telluride, Colo., Jennifer Aniston couldn't believe the way Vince Vaughn, 35, ordered up enormous helpings of calorie-laden blueberry pie, crème brulée, and fried crab cakes — with two spoons for each plate! When she finally asked what was going on, a source says, 'Vince came clean about wanting Jen to put on 20 pounds!'

A big grin spread across Jen's face, as she realized her boyfriend of eight months was indulging her in all the rich foods she's avoided for the past 10 years — and sources say she couldn't be happier!

'Jen is still watching her figure, but she knows weight gain is going to be par for the course if she gets pregnant this year,' says the source. Star reported last week that the 37-year-old is eager to conceive.

According to the source, Vince has been trying to fatten up Jen with 'dozens and dozens of bottles of red wine (85 calories a glass) during romantic meals. He's also ordering things like baked salmon drenched in cream sauce [385 calories] for dinner, double orders of tiramisu [a whopping 700 calories] for dessert followed by a huge latte [180 calories]!' And to everyone's surprise, the normally pin-thin, super food-conscious actress, who notoriously ate the same low-cal salad daily for 10 years while shooting Friends, is really digging in. Vince thinks she'll be hotter when she's heavier, and apparently she's not disagreeing.

HE'S A PEACEMAKER
It isn't the only impact Vince is trying to make on Jen's life! Sources say the Wedding Crashers star is also persuading Jen to bury the hatchet with Angelina Jolie, 30, over Jen's ex-husband Brad Pitt, 42.

'Vince told Angelina's manager he's ready to help Jen put the feuding and competition behind them,' says a friend.

Vince also has been winning over Jen's skeptical best friend, Courteney Cox Arquette, a mutual friend says.

'Courteney was wary of Vince for a long time.' But shortly after New Year's, he showed up at Courteney's and had a heart-to-heart about Jennifer's needs — after which Courteney, 41, suggested that she and her husband, David Arquette, 34, join them on a Caribbean vacation! 'It's a pretty big deal that Courteney would want to go on vacation and have Vince come along,' the source adds. 'She thought he was trouble, but she now sees how taken Jen is with him, and after eight months, he's still hanging around!'

Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton are engaged, the actress's rep tells PEOPLE.

At a post-Oscar party earlier this month, Sheridan, 42, flaunted a huge rock on her left hand, but when asked if she and Bolton, 53, had an announcement, she said coyly, 'No. Do you?'

Asked about engagement rumors in January, Bolton told the New York Daily News: 'Nicollette and I are very serious about each other. ... I am very committed. It is a very special time in my life. I have a good feeling about the future.'

The couple, who rekindled their romance last year after Sheridan's split from fiancé Nicklas Soderblom, dated for several years in the early '90s. In 1994 Sheridan, who stars on Desperate Housewives, said she hoped to have 'the ultimate relationship' with Bolton. Now it looks like they will.

Mr. Britney Spears, a.k.a. Kevin Federline, has told Blender magazine that if his nascent rapping career doesn't work out, he has another idea to bring home a paycheck to wife Britney and son Sean: He'll be a dance club stripper. (Yes, he really said that.)

K-Fed, as he wants to be called, will soon release a rap CD. Word has it that Britney laughed when she first heard it. If that's a fairly widespread reaction among the public, Federline told Blender, 'I'll be at your local strip club, but I'll be the one dancing.'

Here's another great quote. Blender asked K-Fed how he found time to spend with the wife and kid, considering all that rapping he's doing. His answer? 'I have no golf game anymore,' he told the magazine. 'Monday through Friday, I get up at 7:30 a.m., train at the gym for two hours, then go to the studio. I have weekends off to see my kids and to spend time with my old lady.' Gee, how sweet. How romantic.

The magazine is still insisting that Cruise and 'pregnant' Katie Holmes have secretly broken up and are pretending to still be together.

According to Life & Style, Tom recently announced to Katie that he wants sole custody of their alien child once the creature is born.

'Katie went absolutely nuts and stormed off in tears,' says a source close to the couple of how Holmes reacted to Cruise's news.

Tom event went so far as to ask Katie to sign legal documents granting custody, the mag alleges, and Holmes' dad, Martin, who reportedly loathes Cruise, became involved.

FYI: Katie's dad is a lawyer.

And, as PerezHilton.com was the first to exclusively report worldwide, Tom & Katie have been having trouble keeping their alleged facade going and got into a huge fight in public, at a basketball game where Cruise's daughter was playing.

'They had no clue a photographer was there [inside the game],' reports Life & Style about the argument.

Tom is said to want custody of the child because he is concerned that Katie won't raise it as a Scientologist.

'For him to ask Katie to give up custody is just horrible,' says a friend of the couples. 'It just reinforces her attitude that he only cares about himself.'

In fact, according to TomKat's pals, 'Katie is so turned off by Tom and his lifestyle, she's almost ready to make a clean break.'

'I mean, how long is that going to last?'

Pitt and ex-wife Jennifer Aniston divorced in October 2005. Since then, Pitt has adopted Jolie's children, Maddox and Zahara, and is expecting a child with the bombshell actress this summer.

Calls by The Associated Press to Pitt's representative, Cindy Guagenti, and Jolie's manager, Geyer Kosinski, were not immediately returned Tuesday.

The 61-year-old Douglas also took swipes at actresses Renee Zellweger and Julia Roberts: 'I mean, don't ask me what happened with Renee Zellweger. I don't know how you get married for four months. And Julia with Lyle.'

Zellweger annulled her four-month marriage to country singer Kenny Chesney last fall, while Roberts divorced singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett in 1995 after a two-year marriage.

As for his marriage to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, Douglas says he's 'been fortunate. You learn to respect something of value and nurture it and treat it well.'

Douglas and Zeta-Jones, 36, were married in 2000 and have a son, Dylan, 5, and a daughter, Carys, 2. Douglas also has a son, Cameron, 27, from a previous marriage.

I am not trying to cast judgment on anyone. All I am trying to say is that he should not be minding other people's business or make assumptions about other people's lives because the same he makes assumption about others is the same way people can make assumtion about his marriage.
