Lachey & Cavallari Meet Again

Last week after Nick Lachey and Kristin Cavallari were spotted together, she said they were 'just friends.' But they were spotted together again over the weekend, PEOPLE reports in its latest issue.

The pair were seen having a drink together at Stanley's restaurant in Sherman Oaks, Calif. So, is it turning into something more substantial than 'just friends'?

'Eventually it might turn into something more serious,' a pal of Cavallari, 19, who recently split from reality star Brody Jenner, tells PEOPLE. 'But right now it's not. They're at that stage when they're getting to know each other.'

That seemed to be what they were doing over drinks. 'They were talking to each other. They weren't being overly touchy-feely; he was playing it pretty cool,' says a patron standing nearby. 'But she was definitely flirting. She was laughing and flipping her hair back. They seemed to be enjoying the conversation.'

According to Cavallari's friend, she and Lachey, 32, 'have not hooked up.' And a source close to Lachey insists, 'Nick's not looking for a girlfriend. He's not exactly healed from (Jessica).'

Actress Lindsay Lohan would love to shock everyone with a quick Vegas wedding like pop star Britney Spears did with her first marriage.

The 19-year-old star would have no problem following in the singer's footsteps, because she would like to see what marriage feels like for a minute.

She explains, 'Marriage is a big deal, but who's to say I'm not going to pull a 'Vegas' and get married just to get married and see what it's like for a minute?'

Lohan would be open to a spur-of-the-moment ceremony, because it's part of her impulsive nature.

Lohan adds, 'Never say never. The things that you don't plan are the best.

'I'm a very spontaneous person.'

Jessica Simpson Snubs President Bush

Jessica Simpson has left Republicans in Washington dismayed by turning down a invitation to meet with U.S. President George W. Bush at a major party fund-raiser with the president and congressional leaders scheduled for Thursday night.

Her plan to ditch the gathering came after a day of conflicting reports from her handlers and the organizers of the event, reports Reuters. Simpson is in the nation's capital to lobby members of Congress on behalf of Operation Smile, a non-profit venture offering free plastic surgery for disadvantaged children overseas with facial deformities.

People close to Simpson said she declined a request to appear that same evening at the gala fund-raiser of the National Republican Congressional Committee – even after she was offered some private face time with Bush – because Operation Smile is a non-partisan group, says the news service.

NRCC spokesman Carl Forti said he was surprised by the behavior of the 25-year-old Dukes of Hazzard star.

'It's never been a problem for Bono,' he said, referring to the U2 star who has met regularly with leaders of all political leanings to promote such causes as Third World debt relief. 'I find it hard to believe she would pass up an opportunity to lobby the president on behalf of Operation Smile.'

Although Simpson's publicists insisted she never had planned to attend the fund-raiser, Forti said the actress initially accepted the NRCC invitation when it was extended on Tuesday night, only to change her mind the next evening.

Jennie Garth is expecting her third child with actor-husband Peter Facinelli, Us magazine reports.

'Peter and I feel very blessed with our children,' the 33-year-old actress is quoted as telling the magazine in its latest issue, on newsstands Wednesday.

The couple have two daughters, Lola Ray, 3, and Luca Bella, 8.

'We didn't plan any one of them, but higher forces and recognizing priorities helped us along the way. We can't wait to meet this newest addition to our family!' Garth says.

The Associated Press left a phone message for her press representative Wednesday.

Garth, star of the WB sitcom 'What I Like About You,' and Facinelli, 32, were married in 2001.

'Marriages aren't easy, and we're just like any other couple,' says Garth, who starred as Kelly Taylor on the '90s TV series 'Beverly Hills, 90210.'

'We have our roadblocks, but we get around them, and our family prevails. We are so happy we have a normal, grounded life to keep us centered.'

Blender mag asked Federline what he’ll do if his upcoming album fails. “I’ll be at your local strip club, but I’ll be the one dancing,” he replied.

With all the hours he devotes to rapping these days, how does Federline find time for his wife and children, the mag asked?

“I have no golf game anymore,” he explained. “Monday through Friday, I get up at 7:30 a.m., train at the gym for two hours, then go to the studio. I have weekends off to see my kids and to spend time with my old lady.”
