Re: Paging all Latin Brides
There has been a lot of talk about spanish songs for the father/ daugher dance, so I thought I would share what I think are two great songs.1. Because you loved me (the spanish version) i am using that one
2. El Reloj by Luis Miguel. Different I know. But if you listen to the words if could be a father singing about his daughter who is about to leave him forever. I loved it.

for all my latinas--who may have OOT guests coming from out of the country and/or do not speak english, are you doing OOT baskets/bags for them at the hotel? what kinds of information are you putting in there? bi-lingual maps ? i have family coming from peru that do not speak a lick of english and i'm unsure as to some ideas for the OOT bags!

-- tito nieves - tuyo
-- jerry rivera - amores como el nuestro; me estoy enamorando de ti;

Re: Paging all Latin Brides
Oh, I'm so happy I found this thread. Ok, here are our details:Bride: Puerto Rican
Groom: African American
I am having a bilingual outdoor garden ceremony with both English and Spanish readings and a Latin singer who is writing a song just for me to walk down the aisle to. He has an absolutely enchanting voice and I love him dearly for doing this for me. I can't wait to hear it as I walk down the aisle. He's one of those old time 'latin crooners' so I know his voice will have everyone in a trance.
My father and I still don't know which song to choose for our first dance song. He loves Mi Nina Bonita but I really want a song that is more modern and that applys to out relationship. Don't they have 'Butterfly Kisses' in Spanish???
I'm also still trying to gather ideas for menu options that will please my side of the family (although we still have a lot of time for that). I am also doing about 10 latin invites and OOT baskets for those coming from the island.
I hope this thread continues to thrive - I could use all the 'latin touches' and ideas for this wedding I can get.

(going back to read through all the great ideas posted
)

Re: Paging all Latin Brides
they do have butterfly kisses in spanish. I was looking for a song too and i really wanted butterfly kisses but my dad said it had to be a spanish song. So when i booked my DJ he gave us a sampler cd with songs for the reception and i was so shocked to find that it had butterfly kisses in spanish. Unfortunately i don't know who sings it but maybe ask your dj.
