Re: Remember the 80's?

This thread is hysterical !!! I got tears in my eyes !!
I dont 'check in' for a few hours, and i almost missed this thread, the 80's..my favorites !

-So who else cruised Franny Lew to pick up guys ?? Once the cops pulled us over, doing checks for drinks, and they looked at my friends license and go 'what are you guys doing here, you have Astoria Park??' LOLLLLLLLL isnt that hilarious ??
we needed a change of scenery ! -

-JennRenee - I love that 80's photo of you ! I looked like that for my prom, same hair, and my dress was EMERALD GREEN !

-Hey noone mentioned the song SPRING LOVE !! That was the best !! My sis, our close friend, and I, would tape songs back to back and listen to the tape all night, sitting on the stoop and our boyfriends would come by...how cool ! LOL.
(and of course we would sing loudly, along with every word !!!)

I used to love those long-haired bands you mentioned Tracy ! Sebastian Bach...Bret Michaels, of course BON JOVI !!!!

Remember when the printed t-shirts were IN.?? My brothers went to a Bon Jovi concert in 1989, my sis and I wanted to go SOOOO BADDDD...
We were 14, they were 18 and 16, too cool to have little sisters along, they had to 'pick up', so they bought us t-shirts to make up for it !
Of course I wore it the very next day, and had to answer to everyone who asked about the concert that I didnt go to ! PS-Best part about the story, they had 2 extra tickets that they intended to scalp and get big bucks from, and they saw cops and never sold them !! YUP WASTED 2 tickets !!!

Do you know any people that are STUCK in the 80's ?? The hot pink and hot blue stuff ?? UGH.
Well, Funny story, we were over my friends house (A)about a year ago, and another friend of mine (B)came by (you know when one of your friends invites another of your friends, but THEY dont really know eachother? just wanna keep everyone together for the nite, kinda thing..) anyway, we were looking at wedding photos.
'A' is married with 2 kids, and 'B' was engaged at the time. So 'B' and I were were flipping through 'A''s album, which i had seen a few times. Thank God 'A' was in the kitchen brewing coffee or something when 'B' made this comment (not intentionally!!) 'oh wow, the 80's, i LOVEEDDD the 80's !!!!' and I go 'she got married in 94 !'
We were dying of laughter ! The whole bridal party was in poofy dresses, hot pink, and she had that pointy thing on her head...VERY FUNNY !!!
her home to this day is kinda 80's..LOL

***This thread is great, keep it coming !!!

Re: Remember the 80's?

Hey wait girls, wasnt Vanilla Ice the summer of '90?
I clearly remember coming home from the airport after being in Italy all summer and hearing the new 'cool' song on the radio all the way home !
and one of my brothers who never came with us to italy after a certain age (scared to fly), he would fill us in on what we missed all summer, LOL. Most of the time, all new songs would come out in Europe FIRST and then here in the US in the fall, and we knew them already, how cool were we ??

My mom used to call our 'poof' a birds nest, she hated it. Once in the 6th grade, she punished us and HID OUR HAIRSPRAY !!!! We were on the verge of tears that morning BEGGING for our hairspray!! It was like we went to school NUDE, LOL, we were SO embarassed and ANGRY ! LOL to think about what we were like, LOL.

anyone have Olympian sneakers ? (ok that was late 70's !!) LOL, hey there were 4 of us, on dads little salary, and now the kids today have to have 17 pairs of brand name sneakers !
