For brides that blocked rooms, what hotels did you use other than the Inn at FH? I want to avoid using them because I heard they hold the B&G responsible for half of the rooms if not at least half of your block gets booked (hope that wasn't as confusing as I think it sounds)

Any other hotel reccomendations? Preferrably ones that don't have the same policy concerning blocking room and still provides a shuttle?

in addition to the inn at fox hollow we blocked at the melville marriott and the fairfield inn (woodbury). I'm not sure if they provide shuttle service.

Do they charge for rooms not booked?

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Just got home from the Fox Hollow and let me just say this. You know you've found 'the hall' when you go back to visit and you don't want to leave! lol

Today was my 5 year anniversary with FH so he took me for dinner at the Rose Hunt room and everything was perfect! The food was amazing! We had everything from appetizer to dessert - chocolate lava cake - absolutely to die for! - everything was delicious! If the catering is the same quality, which we were told it is then I have NO worries what so ever!

The service was great too! Our waiter's name was Moses - I highly reccomend him if anyone ever decides to go - he so was so friendly and right on time with everything, he even comped us two glasses of amaretto coffee to toast our anniversary! What really put him over the top though was at the end of the night he offered to take our picture in our room - the Winter Garden Pavillion. So we go downstairs to the room and because it was almost 10:00, all the lights and everything were shut off. Before we could even tell him not to worry about it he was gone in search of someone to put the lights and the waterfall on!

We went in the room and it was like we had our own personal photographer! lol He took pictures of us and let us take pictures of the room. He even dimmed the lights before we had the chance to ask, because the pictures weren't coming out right at first because the lighting was too bright!

As if ALL this wasn't enough, we finally finish taking our pictures, thank Moses for the impeccable service and wonderful dinner, walk to the front door and the valet asks FH 'you drive the red saturn right?' so he replies 'yea,' wouldn't you know the valet had our car ready and waiting for us right outside the door! We didn't even have to wait!

I was already in love with the Fox Hollow from when we went to book but tonight just put it over the top. This was the greatest anniversary ever spent at what I now consider my favorite place on earth!

I'll post all the pics as soon as FH uploads them for me I promise!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Does Fox Hollow give you a picutre/layout of the tables in the room you're booked in?

Does anyone have it scanned for the garden terrace room if they do this?

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

They do have a floor plan of the room. I don't have it with me. I can check when I get home to see if I still have it. If I don't t hey may be able to fax it to you.

They do have one, but you can make one yourself..it's pretty easy.

The room is a long rectangle as you know I'm sure, the dance floor runs down the middle of the entire room. Just mark one end for the band and the other end for you and FH.

Tables of 10 or 12 can be circles
12 or 14 are ovals.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

My reception starts at 7pm and the church is at 3pm. I was wonder if the fox hollow has a certain time they will start allowing guests to arrive. I know some of my guests will be doing things in between the time gap but my cocktail hour is in the rose hunt room where the bar is..Does anyone know what they do in this case? Will they let guests sit at the bar before CH begins?

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I am new to the Liwedding forum but I really liked the idea of finding out info about various wedding things (especially new stuff with Fox Hollow) from others in the same boat as me! I'm getting married 3/31/07! WooHoo! The cocktail hr. is in the Briar Fox and the reception is in the Garden Terrace!
Well my planning is actually winding down b/c let's face it, I'm ridiculously organized, it's a sickness!....hehe! On my journey, I found one specific website that I want others to be aware of before placing any orders. The website is called thefavorwarehouse.com based out of farmingdale ny. My favors came damaged, I was not compensated and I had to buy a replacement dozen which only 10 came in a damaged box! Everything is fine now, I made sure of it but I want others to know that this outfit is NOT reputable/reliable and buy at your own risk!

My church is at 3 and my CH starts at 8. Fox Hollow said we could get there around 6ish, me FH and bridal party, early comers will be escorted to the restaurant/bar - my CH is in the petite garden and lantern gallery.

I would call and ask your BM

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Does anyone know when the next Fox Hollow showcase is?

Last time, it was just too crowded to enjoy anything. We plan on getting there really early next time.

It was in March, I think....so do we have to wait til March again for another?

Ooh I'd go again, I hope to see you for more than 5 minutes this time though if we both go
