Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I have never been to a wedding there but when i viewed it I was in awe. I know that it isnt everyones type but it has an old fashioned touch to it. I cant wait for the bridal showcase. It is during the month that we will be getting married next year so we get to see even how the gardens are maintained in the winter months.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Does anyone know the manor rules on decor. I am wondering if I can have lanterns or will it not go right in the manor?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I don't know what their policy is-- You would have to call-- but i would think they would say no for a couple of reasons--
1) Their ceiling is very low-- so the lanterns would probably hang too low
2) The ceiling has a design in it & I would think they would be afraid to damage the ceiling

But it doesn't hurt to call and ask them.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I love the idea of the lanterns though!!!! Maybe you can set them up outside on the pedestals...that might ook really nice out there. I think that there are eight pedestals.

I cant wait to go to on March 14 ...fh hasnt seen it yet so he is excited to view it.

Does eanyone know if they are using all the rooms that night or just the Manor room?

I was hoping to see different music that night!

I love the Westbury Manor!!!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I haven't used their service during any of my planning... I am sure she would be good-- but I don't know if she would be too pushy for their recommended vendors

But on the day of they give you a bridal attendant---- That's included free, but you have to tip her.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hey... I was actually going to ask about that too! I was just contacted by them and I'm not sure if I want to use them or not... I might just set up an appointment and see what I think. I already booked my band and photographer without them though, so we'll see how they react to that... If they don't seem too controlling maybe i'll let them help me out...

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Does anyone know how they work the cake situation?

I want to use the cake they include-- but I want them to decorate it with sugarpaste flowers that I provide--
Do you think they will do that? or is this too complicated? The cake would look something like this:

don't change the cake at WM...go directly to erga's. i saved several hundred dollars by doing that. WM upcharges what ergas asks for upgrades such as fondant, etc.
