Any new DIY projects? - Long Island Weddings
1 Done - We already did our STD's - 2 colors of scrapbook paper glued together with the STD info printed on one. FH also printed the envelopes on his printer.2 Done - We have already purchased the props for our makeshift photobooth. Much cheaper than renting one, we don't have to feed the attendant or tip them And we can re-use some of the props for upcoming Halloween parties.
The rest of these are in progress or pending -
Part 1 of 3)We are working on our holders for the table markers as opposed to table numbers. You can see the pics, work in progress in my album. We will stain them and sink a dowel into them, slit the top and polyurethane them.
Part 2 of 3) We are going to put pics of places we have been in them so some people will be seated at the Hot Air Balloon Festival Table, others at the Bannerman's Castle table, etc. Done - waiting for step 3 to be completed.
Part 3 of 3) We will be printing info about those places and what we enjoyed doing there to the back. Maybe it will inspire others to go too.
We will print the escort cards with these same pics on the backs of them.
We are also going to make our own menus once we have the exact menu decided.
We are going to stamp boxes with a Celtic knot, stain and polyurethane them, add 5 different flavor teas inside and maybe type them with a bow. The boxes can be used for jewelry or other things.
We will be printing our invites using the invites we bought at AC Moore.
We bought the floating candles and will buy the vases for the centerpieces and are collecting shells to put inside them. We will have the florist at the venue put them together with water and a flower in the bottom the day of. Cheaper then buying from them.
I think that's all for now, but I'm not sure.
Good luck with your invitations and Escort cards. Do you have anything else you plan on DIY? Looking forward to seeing pics.

I saw the hearts, they are beautiful. Great work!Part of why we are doing all this is to personalize it, and the other is to save money because it is VERY tight. FH is a Biochemist and has been between jobs for 3 years now. The economy really stinks. Hoping 2014 is better.
Timeline looks great too. We were thinking of doing welcome bags, but there is no way we can swing it.
That's great you got a deal on the photobooth, we got a deal on the props as we bought them the day after Halloween. Thank goodness.
Thanks for asking, and sharing yours as well.
