DeServersky wedding review (as a guest)

My father got married there this weekend and a few people have fmailed me to get the 411, so here goes.

DeSeversky mansion at NYIT- (C plus)
Beautiful grounds and amazing background view for pictures. I don't think you could get better pics. The outside of the mansion was unreal, but I thought the inside was very very dark and a little dismal. JMO, The food was not very good at all. There was not enough food for all the guest during the cocktail hour and what was there was five or six dishes for 80 people. It was all vegetables or watered down tomato and mozarella. The main food wasn't much better either, and the vienesse table was a little underwhelming. The whole point of the vienesse table is to be overwhelmed with selection! Disappointing. The bridal suite was amazing!!! The biggest I have ever seen.

Creative Compositions (A+++++++++)-
Steve is the BEST BEST BEST FORMAL PHOTOGRAPHER I have ever met. He and his staff of two others came early, got every position possible and kept it innovative. He had the same energy at 1 am as he had at 3 pm the day before. Everyone was so happy and he and his staff were so personable and wonderful. He got innovative pictures too so they weren't boring. You just can not go wrong with this company- plain and simple.

Simpsons and Cambridge-(A +++++++)
Excellent Flowers at under $2,500 dollars. That is all I have to say. An unreal deal, but the Chuppah looked beautiful- all flowers, no fabric. The centerpieces were tall and stunning and they really maximized the dollar. He was a pleasure to deal with.


DJ---(B)
I don't remember who he is, but I was underwhelmed once again. Reinforced my idea to hire a band. I felt like the energy just wasn't there. He was relying too much on the music and it felt too far away. I was bored by the music. I love the band feel of a wedding. He did take some requests though. Lastly, during my father wedding song, the cd starting skipping and stayed in the same place for a few seconds. The bride looked so upset!
