Jack and Jill Shower
We are thinking of having a Jack and Jill shower - I really don't know about it besides that it is the bride and groom - anyone been to one or know how you do it or what you do? Thanks!

Re: Jack and Jill Shower
We had one! Lots of fun, and much better I thought. Some tips: Make it a BBQ or some other 'non-girly' thing that will appeal to all ages. Keep the girly things like games about the couple and frilly things to a minimum so it's fun for the guys.We originally thought of a pool party, but realized that the older generation wouldn't have the best time. So, we had a bbq.
Don't be offended if some of the guys don't come. They just might not be comfortable with the idea of it.

Re: Jack and Jill Shower
That's the way it's always been done in my family. Sometimes they start the party early, like 3pm, and that part is just for the girls, then at 6pm all the guys are allowed to join. There's music, food, and dancing -- but that's it - no sitting around watching the bride open gifts she knew she was getting anyway!! I hate going to showers like that - they are soooo boring! (No offense to anyone - JMO
)I'm so glad mine won't be like that! I think a BBQ is a great idea!

Re: Jack and Jill Shower
My future-sis-in-law had a Jiack and Jill shower over the summer. They had it is his parents backyard with a tent and bbq abd catered food. The guys played bocce ball and horseshoes and other games. It was a lot of fun. When they opened the presents they put the hat (with all the bows) on him it! It was hilarious!

Re: Jack and Jill Shower
Although it wasn't for a shower, I threw my sister and BIL a Jack & Jill party as a combined Bachelor/Bachelorette Party per their request. They honeymooned in Jamaica so I gave it a Jamaican theme - jerk chicken wings, lots of fruit and rum, jello shots, and tropical decorations. For games, we had some things that were better suited to the mixed crowd - limbo, a pinata with candy and 'adult' goodies, and such. For favors, I gave out goodie bags with slightly 'adult' and tropical themed goodies inside. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a blast!Welcome New Vendors
