Girls, I have to tell you this. If you are near a beach and your day is beautiful.... do it! I just received some pictures from my best man from the beach. I can't tell you how different an beautiful they are. The sky is blue and the water looks bluer than normal and there we are in black and white, natural light (sun) and so candid and beautiful. Do it! You won't regret it. If these one's came out this great, I can't wait to see my photographers. Good Luck
This is an update to messages posted a few weeks ago about free hotel accomodations from Royal Prestige (through VIP services). My fi and I just returned from Cancun. We stayed at the Yalmakan Hotel-Blue Paradise Resort for 4 nights - free. There was no catch. We went to see a demo on Royal Prestige products a few months ago and were asked to fill out a survey on it. This was exactly what they said on the phone, and we earned the vacation. Then, we got another vacation to Cancun because we bought one of their products. They promised there was no timeshares to look at etc. Everything went smoothly. The resort asks to meet with everyone who stays there- even if they have a timeshare there. We met with them just before checkout to turn in our evaluation of the hotel. They said they would have a salesperson show a suite. We declined and they said "No problem". There was no pressure.
The hotel was no better or worse than I expected from a 3 star hotel. It is no frills. The room was simple and bug-free. That is all we had hoped for. The all-inclusive pckg. cost us $40/day. This covered all meals and drinks. The only bad thing that happened was we booked trips through the concierge. He did not tell us about the scuba diving packages. We only bought 1 trip individually before we found out about the pckg. of dives from outsiders. The concierge was unable to get us the rest of the dives at the package price, so we bought nothing else from him and he got no tip. I do not recommend this trip as a honeymoon, but it is ok for a long weekend to get some fun in the sun. It takes 2 hours to get to Cozumel from there- great diving. Confirm everthing yourself before leaving, and do not book day trips with the concierge. Book directly through the sponsor or the dive shop on site.

There happened to be a beach down the road from my church. Literally 2 min. Any beach will do. I was actually on the Sound and it's beautiful.

Where was your church? Close to Wading River area? Just curious for when it's my turn!! Thanks!!
I use Racine on Main St. in Islip. They do hair, makeup, waxing & nails. They may already be booked, but give them a try and tell them Victoria Caputo sent you. They are also opening a spa next door for facials, etc. The number is 631-224-5240.
Our reception site recommended Body Rock and Ultimate Starlite. Haven't spoken with them yet but would welcome comments if anyone knows them.

Hi Val: I was married at St. John The Baptist on North Country Road in Wading River, about 4 minutes from Eastwind. Down the block (N. Country) at the end is a town beach. That's where I went. Did I send you the picture on email?
Now-a-days..who pays for the shower? I have no sisters..and I think my mom will pay for the whole thing..but I never asked her. Is this something I should ask my mother? Or should I leave all that to the maid of honor to handle (asking the mom and bridemaids???) Its a touchy subject no?
Even in Feb, I'm sure you'll be OK. I know it feels like so many things are happening at once and can be overwhelming - but its a fun ride and you only do it once (or at the very least, once fo r the first time) and you should enjoy it. I was overwhelmed at my shower by all the love and generosity of my friends and family.....just remember to stop and smell the roses. :o)

Yes!! They were beautiful!! I think we will take a ride by the beach when we go to book next week, so I know where it is!! He would like to do some beach pictures I think!
My suggestion, is to call the town hall that you are going to go to, and ask what is all needed before you go there...and while you are at it, ask what they accept for payment (money order, check, etc).
If you are getting married in the state of New York, then you can go anywhere in the state of New York to get the marriage license - that is what I was told, but you can ask to make sure.

You won't regret the beach pictures.
Hi I am wearing a tiara too. I love the way it looks with my hair up!! I had a veil attached to a comb so I can just whip it off after the ceremony (not a fan of a veil but my mom cried when I tried one on) Word of advice. If you are getting a tiara and a veil make sure they are two seperate pieces. Some tiaras are attached to the veil and you are stuck with it all night. Try Patchogue floral they have a huge selection of tiaras (and other headpieces). Some tiaras are very dainty and petite and others are huge and tall. Good Luck
****Try hitting one of the bigger Hallmark stores in one of the malls. I was at one this weekend and they had cake toppers, cake servers, toasting glasses, guest books (didn't see a pillow though)....

Let me know.
Good luck!

I got married at Lands End in Sayville on a yucky day - weatherwise....but my photographer was keeping an eye out on the rain and when it stopped, she whisked us outside to get some pictures...even in overcast weather, the pictures came out so nice! Rocks, docks, water and sailboats...It's a great place rain or shine for pictures!
The place is on Smith St.? in Farmingdale off Route 110 (next to Adventureland). I think it is called K&G menswear. They are only open Fri.-Sun. The have tuxes to buy that start at $99. My fi got his for $149 because he wanted an athletic cut. They also have all the extras cheap. He got a shirt, cumberbun, bowtie, and shoes for about $60.
Anyone have a guest that didn't bring a gift? I have someone on the husband's side who told me she forgot the check at home and would mail it....waiting...waiting...waiting....my husband is crazed and wants to call...is that right? or just chalk it up to our loss and bad manners on their part?
