Flowers by Brian in Mineola...What was your experience?
I went there last night and he literally spent about ten minutes with me and was so business-like and abrupt. He offered me no suggestions and when I told him about ceremony flowers he just told me that he will give me two rose bouquets for 495 dollars. He didn't even ask me to look at some books or even if I wanted Rose bouquets. I told him that his quote was over my budget by $1000 and I expected him to give my other beautiful alternatives for flowers. Instead he cut my centerpiece from 3 dozen roses to 18. I thought he would say that maybe I should try another flower which is cheaper but still get the same effect. I was very unhappy. Anyone else have the same experience?

I had a similar experience there. The lady was super nice but just not very informative. My mother and I know nothing about flowers and all she did was just shoot out a bunch of names of them and handed us books to look at. We had no idea what we were looking at. We went with Pedestals b/c Joe there spent the extra time to walk us thru everything and make us totally comfortable with what we were agreeing to.

I had a great experience with them and esp with their customer service. I hope things aren't changing there! When I went they did leave me alone with the books for awhile but when I showed them things I was interested in - they gave me idea on how we could customize and arrange them and were very helpful and great to work with. Also, I didn't really have to pick anything - set anything in stone - anything upon booking with was great...just give them ideas of what I may like. I could change/settle my ideas on colors or flowers or style - when I got much closer to my wedding (a month before). They were also flexible on price and worked with our budget. It is funny because I hated Pedalstals for the same reason as you said. They were rude to me, wanted me to decide everything right then and there - very inflexible, and they were not good with price (got so much more from FBB foor less price).
But I wouldn't book a vendor you weren't comfortable...just wanted to say sorry you didn't have a good experience with them b/c I think they are a great vendor!

Re: Flowers by Brian in Mineola...What was your experience?
He gave me a $9,000 quote on my flowers, and he acted like he was doing me a favor. My average quote for the same flowers was $4,500, so I cannot understand what Brian was thinking when he quoted me that price--maybe he thought I was stupid
Oh well--But just FYI--my boss had a great experience w/them and that is why I checked them out.

Re: Flowers by Brian in Mineola...What was your experience?
We used Brian for our wedding this August, and like Nicey I had a great experience with them. We had to make changes as we got closer to the wedding, and they were very accomadating, working with us and making sure that the extras did not put us over budget. We did use all roses, so the woman we worked with (Lisa, I think) did not have to guide us through flowers, but she was wonderful in helping pick out how they were set up, colors etc. He was also the lowest price I got, and I went to four florists. I did get a lower quote (from Burtons) but it was not that much lower and Br.an beat it. They will negotiate on price.Welcome New Vendors
